We analyze partner and marketplace dynamics, build forecasts and models, run experiments, and create scalable dashboards and data products that power strategic direction and operational execution. We bring value through rigorous analyses and pragmatic, measurable recommendations that help Supply, Product and other teams prioritize work and drive impact. Our work improves inventory quality, partner economics, and the long-term health and growth of Agoda.<br><br>The Opportunity: <br><br>As a Lead Analyst, you will report directly to either the Senior Manager or Associate Director within the Supply Department and this will be an individual contributor role. You will be responsible and fully empowered to work with the partners on the ground. You will be supported by a team within the Supply department and work closely with other Team members within Agoda.<br><br>In this Role, you’ll get to:<br><br>Translate internal briefs into analytical projects (to include refining the initial brief and asking the ‘right questions’, working through potential hypotheses and storyboarding the output) Use and analyze data from multiple large-scale data warehouses and present statistically strong analysis to a wide range of business stakeholders. Proactively identify opportunities for growth within supply and the wider business. Drive new analytical initiatives and projects aimed at improving organizational efficiency and shaping Agoda supply. Identify, support, and lead projects aimed at scaling up the way the Supply organization leverages on data, insights, and intelligence. Automate manual operational processes and present back on time savings gained through modernization of business operations<br><br>What you’ll Need to Succeed:<br><br>At least 2-5+ years of experience working as an Analyst with experience in analytics/data science/insights/strategy/BIAdvanced working knowledge and hands-on experience in SQLStrong knowledge and hands-on experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau (preferably) Expert domain of data analysis and data visualization tools and software such as Excel, Python (or R) Bachelor’s degree ideally in a business or quantitative subject (e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering, science, economics or finance). A good understanding of statistical modelling knowledge or any machine learning technique knowledge (such as hypothesis testing, regression, logistic regression, random forest, etc.) Good stakeholder management experience. Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and C-suite. Experience in conducting A/B testing experimentation Strong experience in finding data insights and provide business recommendation to the business A hacker’s mindset – the ability to build simple but clever and elegant solutions to new problems within significant resource, operational and time constraints through deep understanding of the business, creative problem solving, and a wide range of expertise in data, analytics, automation, programming, and prototyping. Excellent communicator with superior written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Data driven in both decision making and performance measurement. Extreme comfort in ambiguous, fast-paced environment. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and coordinate resources.<br><br>It’s Great if you Have: <br><br>MBA or Masters in a quantitative subject (e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering, science, economics or finance). Program management certifications (e.g. PMI, PRINCE2) to compliment your program management experience. Asian market experience. We analyze partner and marketplace dynamics, build forecasts and models, run experiments, and create scalable dashboards and data products that power strategic direction and operational execution. Our work improves inventory quality, partner economics, and the long-term health and growth of Agoda.<br><br>The Opportunity: <br><br>As a Senior Analyst, you will report directly to either the Senior Manager or Associate Director within the Supply Department and this will be an individual contributor role. You will be responsible and fully empowered to work with the partners on the ground. Our goal is to enable and increase Agoda’s business through creative approaches and the implementation of powerful resources such as operational and analytical databases, ML driven solutions, queue systems and data monitoring tools. We are a small but passionate team with people from different nationalities working together on a single goal.<br><br>In this Role, you will get to:<br><br>Lead the team technically in improving scalability, quality, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing Data and ML processes Able to analyze data to help us make better decisions Design/build/test tools, libraries, pipelines, and platforms to help Data Science and Business team to launch experiments in Production Work with experienced engineers and product owners to identify and build tools to automate many large-scale data management / analysis / ML tasks We believe in end-to-end ownership; this role will involve taking and building systems that enable us to launch experiments in production at a rapid pace<br><br>What You’ll need to Succeed:<br><br>Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information systems/engineering/related field 6+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 4+ years in data/ml engineering Expert in designing/writing/maintaining data pipelines and systems while ensuring data quality Expert in SQL, Python3, and JVM based programming language – ie, Java or Scala Expert in software design/design patterns/best practices, functional programming and object-oriented programming. Be comfortable navigating the following technology stack: Python3, Scala Spark, Hadoop, SQL, S3 etc. Familiar with general Machine Learning concepts and common models - ie, regularization, Tree Models, etc Familiar with statistical analysis concepts - ie, p-value, z-score, etc Analytical problem-solving capabilities & experience. Our goal is to enable and increase Agoda’s business through creative approaches and the implementation of powerful resources such as operational and analytical databases, ML driven solutions, queue systems and data monitoring tools. The role the engineering team plays at Agoda is critical as business users, product managers, and many others rely on us to empower their decision making. We are equally dedicated to our customers by improving their search experience with faster results and protecting them from any fraudulent activities. Data is interesting only when you have enough of it, and we have plenty. This is what drives up the challenge as part of the ML engineering squad, but also the reward. We work across structured and non-structured data at scale. For example, our current ML models process millions of images every day to try and enhance the experience that our users get from our app.<br><br>Why Agoda Engineering Team (ML role)?<br><br>Our engineering teams are at the intersection of business analytics, ml engineering, data warehousing and software engineering. Our job involves dealing with distributed systems, stream processing, ml modeling and computation at tens of PB Scale. We focus on software engineering related to data replication, storage, centralized computation, and Data API’s. By providing our users with ML products/tools, shared frameworks, and ML services, we enable our company to validate strategic decisions, make smarter choices, and react to the fast-changing world. We are a small but passionate team with people from different nationalities working together on a single goal.<br><br>In this Role, you will get to:<br><br>Lead the team technically in improving scalability, stability, accuracy, speed and efficiency of our existing ML systems and processes. Build, administer and scale ML processing pipelines. Be comfortable navigating the following technology stack: Python3, Scala Spark, scripting (Bash/Python), Hadoop, SQL, S3 etc. Should be able to understand internals of ML models such as Light GBM, Random Forest, CNN, Regression models, etc Design, build, test and deploy new libraries, frameworks or full systems for our core systems while keeping to the highest standards of testing and code quality. Work with experienced engineers and product owners to identify and build tools to automate many large-scale data management / analysis tasks. We believe in end-to-end ownership; this role will involve taking and building systems that enable us to deliver ML models to production at a scale.<br><br>What You’ll need to Succeed:<br><br>Bachelor’s degree in computer science /information systems/engineering/related field 6+ years of experience in software engineering with a minimum of 4+ years in MLExpert in SQL, Python3, and JVM based programming language – ie, Java or Scala Expert in software design/design patterns, functional programming and object-oriented programming. Analytical problem-solving capabilities & experience.
