Location: Qatar<br><br>Contract Duration: Initial 2-Month Contract (Extendable)<br><br>Employment Type: Contract<br><br>About The Opportunity<br><br>An established engineering consultancy in Qatar is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer – BIM to support the delivery of high-profile building and infrastructure projects. This is an initial 2-month contract with strong potential for extension, making it ideal for professionals who are immediately available or can mobilise at short notice.<br><br>The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical designs, developing BIM models, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring all engineering deliverables meet project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Design and develop LV/MV electrical power distribution systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. Prepare electrical calculations including load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and fault level calculations. Produce single-line diagrams, power layouts, lighting layouts, containment drawings, panel schedules, and detailed engineering documentation. Design indoor, outdoor, and emergency lighting systems using Dialux or Relux. Design fire alarm, emergency communication, public address, voice evacuation, and life safety systems in accordance with international standards. Develop designs for ELV systems including CCTV, access control, structured cabling, BMS, IPTV, nurse call, and building automation systems. Perform generator sizing, UPS calculations, power factor correction, harmonic analysis, and energy efficiency studies. Develop accurate 3D electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit MEP. Participate in BIM coordination meetings and resolve multidisciplinary clashes using Navisworks. Create, modify, and maintain Revit families for electrical equipment, lighting fixtures, panels, and containment systems. Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, mechanical, and public health engineering teams throughout all project stages. Prepare design documentation suitable for concept, detailed design, tender, and construction phases. Ensure compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Common Data Environment (CDE) procedures, and international engineering standards. Produce monthly Reliability reports indicating critical equipment Reliability and key issues from (SAP) S4Hanna corrective data, Smart Signal and other data sources. Deep analysis of monthly SECE report to improve Maintenance and integrity backlog. Carry out SECE performance results analysis to optimise maintenance test frequency. Estimate vital function availability and reliability status from other maintenance discipline based on ISO 14224 methods. Conduct life analysis using Weibull++ or similar tool, have a working knowledge of Reliability Growth either by using a tool or spreadsheet. Estimate MTBF, MTTF and Failure Rates and their associated confidence limits, and how to benchmark against ISO 14224 compliant data sources. Conduct and lead Root Cause Analyses (investigations) using CTA or other structured methods and to produce/steward appropriate actions to mitigate or avoid reoccurrence. Support HSE / Reliability joint investigations where technical failures have been a significant contributor. Focus on uptime/output losses and the causes of those losses (i.e Pareto analysis), prioritizing losses, eliminations plans, and implementation of those plans. Lead obsolescence studies and produce strategies for long term sustainability, produce/steward appropriate actions to optimize longevity of obsolete equipment where appropriate and to produce/steward recommendations for equipment where obsolescence cannot be tolerated.
