<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <p>The Woodworking Technician is responsible for carrying out skilled woodworking, carpentry, fabrication, assembly, repair, and finishing activities according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, work orders, and cutting lists.</li><li>Measure, mark, cut, shape, drill, sand, and assemble wood and wood-based materials according to specifications.</li><li>Operate woodworking machinery and equipment, including table saws, panel saws, band saws, routers, planers, sanders, drilling machines, and other workshop equipment.</li><li>Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for woodworking and fabrication activities.</li><li>Prepare and select appropriate materials based on job requirements, including plywood, MDF, solid wood, veneer, laminates, and other wood-based materials.</li><li>Carry out accurate cutting and machining to achieve the required dimensions and tolerances.</li><li>Assemble cabinets, furniture, wooden structures, fixtures, displays, and other fabricated items.</li><li>Install hinges, handles, locks, slides, brackets, fittings, and other hardware as required.</li><li>Perform edge banding, laminating, veneering, routing, sanding, and other finishing preparation activities.</li><li>Conduct repair, modification, and maintenance work on wooden furniture, fixtures, and structures.</li><li>Ensure proper alignment, fitting, finishing, and overall workmanship of completed products.</li><li>Inspect materials and finished products for defects, damage, incorrect measurements, or poor workmanship.</li><li>Rectify any defects or discrepancies identified during production or inspection.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and work area.</li><li>Ensure proper storage and handling of woodworking materials, tools, and equipment.</li><li>Minimize material wastage by following approved cutting plans and using materials efficiently.</li><li>Follow all company procedures, production schedules, quality requirements, and safety regulations.</li><li>Report damaged tools, malfunctioning machinery, material shortages, or safety hazards to the supervisor.</li><li>Coordinate with supervisors, designers, production personnel, and other technicians to ensure timely completion of assigned work.</li><li>Complete assigned jobs within the required timeframe and productivity standards.</li><li>Maintain proper care of company tools, machinery, and equipment.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.</li></ul><p><br></p> </div><h2 class="h5">Skills</h2> <div data-jb-field="skills"><p><b>Qualifications &amp; Experience</b></p><ul><li>High school diploma, technical certificate, or vocational qualification in Carpentry, Woodworking, Furniture Making, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum <b>2–3 years of relevant experience</b> in woodworking, carpentry, furniture manufacturing, joinery, or workshop fabrication.</li><li>Experience in operating woodworking machinery and power tools.</li><li>With Valid Qatar Driving License</li><li>Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements.</li><li>Experience with furniture, cabinetry, joinery, fixtures, or interior fit-out works is an advantage.</li><li>Knowledge of different types of wood, boards, laminates, veneers, adhesives, and hardware.</li><li>Ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.</li><li>Knowledge of basic woodworking techniques, assembly methods, and finishing processes.</li></ul><p><b>Technical Skills</b></p><ul><li>Proficient in using woodworking hand tools and power tools.</li><li>Competent in operating woodworking machinery.</li><li>Good knowledge of cutting, shaping, drilling, routing, sanding, and assembly techniques.</li><li>Ability to work accurately according to measurements and technical specifications.</li><li>Knowledge of woodworking materials and hardware.</li><li>Basic understanding of quality control and finishing standards.</li><li>Ability to identify and troubleshoot common woodworking and assembly issues.</li></ul><p><br></p></div>
