Position has interactions with external stakeholders (Contractor Management). Interfaces with Project Engineers, Inspection Engineers, Mechanical/Instrumentation/ICSS Engineers, and 3rd-party contractors. Emphasis on technical leadership and mentorship <br>CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT Position is in a Joint Venture Operating Company on the Al Shaheen oil and gas field, one of the largest offshore oil and gas fields in the world. The role is onshore based in Doha, Qatar and is a permanent staff position on a residential basis (5 day working week). Role will require regular offshore trips together with visits to contractor offices and facilities. ACCOUNTABILITIES Ensure highest safety and technical support in the assessment and recommendations for electrical and HVAC maintenance activities, issue procedures and technical support for its discipline Provide all aspects of electrical and HVAC equipment engineering/technical support and assistance to offshore team, NOC OC, Maintenance support and Shutdown/Campaign entity Responsible for the technical administration of all electrical & HVAC spare parts for Field operation, from its creation to its refurbishment or end of life. Provide immediate support in close liaison with Tier 2 Maintenance Coordinator, Operations Centre Manager / personnel, Offshore stakeholders, Departmental Planners, Contracts and Procurement Department, Warehouse, Maintenance Department. Responsible for new Spare Parts, ensuring they are referenced and attached to their equipment through the BOM in PALM Supply the TADM with the stock preservation operation to be carried out by logistics or specialized company for equipment under own area of expertise. Anticipate obsolescence, generate actionplan for mitigation and present to the Lead Engineer Identify opportunities to improve contractor/supplier contracts, reduce costs and improve the quality of services/products supplied. All staff must be willing to participate in Crisis Response Training and to assist during Emergency Response Situations if required. Conducting planned and random site inspections of electrical installations and systems to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, local regulations, and relevant international standards. Inspecting electrical works, including power distribution systems, lighting systems, earthing and lightning protection systems, low-voltage installations, control panels, cabling works, and associated infrastructure. Monitoring contractor activities to ensure adherence to approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Witnessing electrical testing and commissioning activities, including cable testing, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, functional testing, and system performance verification. Identifying non-conformances, quality issues, and deviations from project specifications, and recommending corrective and preventive actions. Investigating recurring quality issues, conducting root cause analysis, and preparing detailed inspection reports with supporting documentation and photographs. Recording inspection findings and maintaining accurate quality records in relevant systems, ensuring timely updates and effective document control. Providing field-based technical support and guidance to contractors and project teams on quality-related matters. Liaising with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and client representatives to resolve quality concerns and promote best practices. Ensuring compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements during all inspection activities. Participating in on-call escalation rotas and supporting colleagues as required to meet business needs.<br>To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include:A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in electrical quality inspection, construction supervision, or quality assurance within infrastructure, utilities, or building projects. A Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including local authority requirements and international standards such as IEC, BS, or equivalent. Experience reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, test reports, and quality documentation. Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience working with government clients or large-scale infrastructure projects will be advantageous. The Electrical Power Production Technician installs, operates, and modifies electrical generating power production plants and Ground/Mobile Power Generation equipment.<br><br>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<br><br>Installs and operates electrical power plants, distribution equipment, automatic transfer panels Checks equipment for serviceability Positions equipment such as gasoline, diesel, and turbine engines; generators; switchgear; air compressors; and other power plant auxiliary equipment Modifies equipment according to technical publications.
