Attend department-related Health & Safety meetings. Act as Operations Lead and attend ongoing business meetings with HIA Safety in the absence of the Operations Supervisor. Ensure the required Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Category (CAT) protection level is maintained in terms of vehicles, equipment, firefighting agents, and personnel during shift hours, in compliance with QCAR 006 (as amended) and TRA instructions. Supervise and control staff leave to ensure minimum manpower availability required for compliance at both airports. Ensure availability and readiness of firefighting and breathing apparatus / rescue equipment. Ensure all Fire Department staff assigned to vehicles are certified and qualified to operate their designated vehicles. Ensure Airside Vehicle Operator Permits (AVOP) for all department personnel are valid and up to date. Ensure all employees are medically fit to perform their duties in compliance with QCAR 006 (as amended). Inform the Operations Manager of any deficiencies or shortcomings in section performance.
