Job Summary and Purpose Handle and manage all activities related to seafarers’ professional development, career progression, and certification compliance.<br>Key Accountabilities:Training1. Conduct comprehensive Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for all seafarer ranks and roles.2. Maintain a training matrix covering STCW, company-mandated, and computer-based training (CBT).3. Performance Management12. Oversee the appraisal process for all seafarers:Ensure timely submission of appraisal reports after each tour. Review and assess appraisal content for accuracy and consistency. Identify training needs or performance gaps highlighted by Masters and Chief Engineers.13. Manage the annual performance cycle:Consolidate appraisal scores. Collaborate with department heads to finalize year-end performance ratings. Support the reward and recognition process based on performance outcomes. Evaluate Training Centers14. Assess and approve external training centers to ensure alignment with STCW, flag state, and company-specific standards.15. Conduct periodic evaluations of training providers for quality, relevance, accreditation status, and instructor competency.16. Maintain a vetted list of approved training centers and ensure seafarers are enrolled only in compliant institutions.17. Liaise with training providers to address feedback, resolve issues, and implement improvements where necessary.. Vessel Visits & Fleet Officer Engagement:18. Conduct vessel visits (including sailing visits) to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of onboard training, mentorship, and career development practices.19. Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the Fleet Officer Meeting, including agenda setting, logistics, and event management.20. SAFETY OFFICER<br><br>Qualification<br><br>Higher National Degree (HND), or University Degree (Preferably in an Engineering discipline) or an Accredited HSE Professional Certificate Associate membership of a recognized safety institution is desirable. <br><br>Experience:<br><br>Minimum 10 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Industry, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Oil & Gas large scale EPIC project, and specifically construction projects (including greenfield and brownfield work). Thorough knowledge of safe work practices, international standards (e.g., ISO 45001:2018), and procedures. Conversant with international standards in Environmental Management System. You will streamline shipping and customs activities, define the most suitable transportation and customs schemes, and supervise the safe, efficient and cost-effective movement of Saipem purchased materials, subcontractors’ equipment and company-provided items in compliance with project requirements, budget and schedule.<br><br>How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:<br><br>Streamline shipping and customs activities within the supply chain process, coordinating with Procurement, Expediting & Inspection, Asset and Operational Logistics to improve efficiency, competences and cost control. Define the best transportation and customs scheme, including feasibility and cost assessment, according to actual project requirements. Supervise and manage transport and customs formalities for Saipem purchased materials, subcontractors’ equipment and company-provided items from agreed delivery point up to final destination. Support tendering and supply chain functions by defining transportation schemes, assessing feasibility and preparing related budget inputs. Define the overall Project Customs scheme during tendering and execution phases according to project fiscal organization, vendor locations, material origin and applicable customs/fiscal regulations. Support procurement activities by defining contractual delivery terms, providing transport costs, preparing packing specifications and shipping instructions. Liaise with Expediting & Inspection once goods are released for collection, ensuring timely shipment arrangement up to destination. Coordinate with Logistics to define Project Shipping instructions and ensure distribution through the Shipping and Customs Network to all transport offices involved. Support the Insurance department by ensuring proper notification where shipment value exceeds corporate insurance deductibles or when damage occurs during transportation. Review and approve Scope of Works, Purchase Requisitions and Technical Bid Evaluations relevant to Transport Frame Agreements and single dedicated shipments. Manage Transport Agreements and monitor utilization, approving related AfS / WO within power of attorney limits and authorizing SE / Progress Reports. Ensure proper document archiving and traceability of all records relevant to shipping and customs activities. Ensure the required information flow toward competent functions for liquidated damages and price revision matters. Assign Shipping & Customs Coordinators to projects and ensure adequate support from Shipping and Customs officers, including outsourced resources through the network when required. Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions in cloud environments using OCI/Azure-native capabilities (e.g., Azure Backup via Recovery Services Vault, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and OCI backup features) and/or enterprise backup tools as applicable. Apply cloud governance and operational best practices (tagging, least privilege, patching/maintenance windows) including patch orchestration with Azure Update Manager for Azure VMs; optimize performance and cost for Linux workloads.<br><br>On-Premises Infrastructure & Storage<br><br>Manage physical and virtualized environments (VMware) including provisioning, lifecycle management, and performance tuning. Administer enterprise storage platforms and services including SAN/NAS, RAID concepts, LUN provisioning, zoning/masking (as applicable), and NFS/SMB integrations; experience with storage arrays such as Net App (ONTAP), HPE (3PAR), and IBM storage is highly desirable; familiarity with SAN fabrics (Brocade and/or Cisco MDS) is a plus. Configure and troubleshoot Linux storage stack components such as multipathing, LVM, udev rules, and filesystems (ext4, XFS); perform capacity management and growth activities. Ensure seamless integration between on-prem and cloud (hybrid connectivity, routing/DNS, identity, and operational processes) and perform ongoing infrastructure optimization. Implement and validate backup/restore and disaster recovery procedures; hands-on experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Commvault, Veritas Net Backup, and Cohesity; leverage storage snapshots and replication (vendor-native replication, Net App, replication where applicable) and participate in DR drills and recovery testing.<br><br>Automation & Dev Ops<br><br>Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Shell scripting. Use configuration management tools like Ansible. Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform preferred). <br><br>Monitoring & Performance<br><br>Implement and manage monitoring tools. Prepare technical documentation and SOPs. <br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Required Skills & Qualifications<br><br>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.8+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments (production operations and on-call support). Strong expertise in:Enterprise Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux; systemd, networking, troubleshooting, performance tuning) Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) including networking (VCN), compute, IAM, and storage (Block Volumes/File Storage) Microsoft Azure including compute, networking, storage, monitoring, and identity (Microsoft Entra ID) Storage administration: SAN/NAS fundamentals, multipathing, LVM, filesystems (XFS/ext4), and capacity planning; exposure to enterprise storage vendors such as Net App ONTAP, HPE 3PAR, and IBM and SAN switches (Brocade/Cisco MDS). Must-have: Working knowledge of Oracle Database administration on Linux (installation/patching support, Oracle user and filesystem layout, listener basics, performance/log locations); familiarity with RMAN backup concepts and Data Guard fundamentals is preferred. Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V); understanding of virtual networking and storage integrations. Strong scripting skills (Bash) for automation, reporting, and operational tooling. Hands-on experience with automation and IaC tools (Ansible required; Terraform preferred). Experience with patch management and lifecycle tooling such as Red Hat Satellite (content views, activation keys, repositories) and Azure Update Manager for scheduling and compliance reporting. Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, NTP) and ability to collaborate on firewall/security configurations. Experience with backup/restore and disaster recovery practices (RPO/RTO concepts, recovery testing, documentation) using tools such as Azure Backup (Recovery Services Vault), Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and/or enterprise platforms including Commvault, Veeam, Veritas Net Backup, and Cohesity.<br>Working Conditions<br><br>Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during planned maintenance windows and critical incidents.
