The role focuses on mechanical design of various components and assemblies for catheter systems, a console, and cross-functional leadership from concept through high volume manufacturing. You will be responsible for the design, vendor relationships and testing per applicable standards. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Doha, Qatar office.<br>Responsibilities, Skills & Hands-On Experience:Lead design and development of plastic/composite and metallic parts from concept to high volume manufacturing; drive DFM/DFS, manufacturing and tooling decisions with suppliers. Drive the full mechanical lifecycle: requirements, concepts, prototyping, detailed design, V&V, and transition to production. Integrate mechanical designs with electronics, firmware, fluid, and user-interface elements in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Guide analysis (tolerance stacks, FEA, material selection, root-cause) on critical subsystems. Creative solutions and product designs to satisfy unmet clinical needs in thrombectomy. Be a primary contributor to the intellectual property position of the company via invention disclosures and prototypes to demonstrate reduction to practice. Interact with physicians to assist with product demonstrations and product testing. Effectively document work throughout the development process though design reviews, manufacturing instructions, test methods, and test reports. Expertise in design and development of medical devices. Expertise in electromechanical and mechanism design of durable medical devices. Substantial experience in design of higher volume disposable components. Substantial experience in design for molding and machining. Substantial experience in design for manufacturing. Pilot production experience. Expertise in product, tool and fixture design using Solid Works. Performance test apparatus and test method development. Process development on both a prototype and manufacturing level. Mentoring and assisting team members with less experience. Participating in lab and cleanroom environment builds. Process optimization and design of experiment based on statistical methodology. Selecting and managing suppliers, including understanding of capabilities, materials, and fabrication processes Working independently and in a project team setting. Supporting regulatory filings including writing technical sections and providing general technical input.<br>Education & Work Experience:Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering. At least 15 years of experience in complex product development, including regulated products. Advanced Solid Works proficiency. Demonstrated track record as a lead/principal engineer or product design of medical devices from concept through launch. Strong expertise in injection molding and RIM molding (part design, materials, DFM, cosmetic and structural considerations). Strong experience with medical devices under FDA/ISO 13485 or equivalent regulatory frameworks. Completed structural analysis and design of on-shore oil and gas processing facilities:Concrete and Structural steel piperacks, storage tanks foundation, Vertical vessels foundations, Horizontal vessels and Heat exchangers foundation and Pipe supports etc. Infrastructures (Electrical Substations, Potable and Foul water pumping stations and water tanks) Buildings (Utility and Non-utility buildings) Ensures recognised onshore & offshore engineering practices applicable to Civil Structural design engineering are adopted within the discipline. Review designs, sketches and reports with supporting calculations for projects, and supply drafting staff with information to assist in the production of detailed drawings, the development of quantities, materials lists and cost estimates as required. Collaborates with project team in review of project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules. Leads weekly Civil Structural meetings, reviews progress reports and required checking procedures. Initiate, manage and supervise engineering assignments on projects that meet project requirements on time and within budget. Organise and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of Civil Structural discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule. Understands and applies the Project Execution Plan (PEP) requirements - make-up and application (including the Engineering Plan). Reviews data from multiple sources and prepares engineering studies, analyses, calculations, and recommend actions. Crafts recommendations and reviews final documentation prior to customer approval. Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc. Establish a list of discipline deliverables. Modern AI Stack expertise: Proficiency in coding and the modern AI infrastructure, including Kubernetes, vector databases, agentic development, and LLM observability tools. Ensure Full-Stack integrity: Oversee the end-to-end health of the platform, ensuring seamless integration between the AI core and all full-stack components, from APIs to UI, to maintain a responsive and production-ready environment. Scale the feedback loop: Build automated systems to monitor model performance and data drift across geographically dispersed environments, ensuring the right levels of reliability. Navigate global compliance: Manage the technical lifecycle within diverse regulatory frameworks. Incident command: Lead the response for production issues in mission-critical environments, ensuring rapid resolution and building the guardrails to prevent them from happening again. Bridge the gap: Translate deep technical performance metrics into clear insights for senior international government officials. Drive product evolution: Partner with our Engineering and ML teams to ensure the lessons learned in the field directly influence the technical architecture and decisions of future use cases.<br><br>Ideally, you have:<br><br>Experience: 6+ years in a high-impact technical role (SRE, FDE or MLOps) with experience in the public sector. Global perspective: Familiarity with international government security standards and the complexities of deploying sovereign AI. System architecture proficiency: Proven experience maintaining production-grade applications with a deep understanding of the full request lifecycle-connecting frontend/API layers to the backend and AI core. Modern AI Stack expertise: Proficiency in coding and the modern AI infrastructure, including Kubernetes, vector databases, agentic development, and LLM observability tools. Ownership: You treat every production deployment as your own. You race toward solving hard problems before the customer even sees them. Reliability: You understand that in the public sector, a model failure may be a risk to public safety or privacy. Perform Safety screening of project scopes. Able to analyse existing safety systems to establish adequacy and identify gaps Hands on experience of conducting Hazardous Area Classification, Safety layout Assessment, Emergency escape route assessment. Experience in Fire engineering activities like Fire Zone determination, Firewater demand calculations and Firewater network hydraulics. Preparation of third-party scope of work, bid evaluation, and post-award coordination to ensure smooth progress of safety and environmental workshops. Participating and preparing reports for project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops when required. Able to perform Physical Hazard Effects (PHE) modelling and able to review Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA). Experience in conducting F&G mapping. Co-ordinating with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up. Providing technical support to site as required. Producing and reviewing specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations; ensuring that they conform to engineering quality, competence, and project management systems. Presenting a client facing leadership role, build confidence and maintain communication with client through formal and informal meetings. Being focused on delivery and maintaining progress in line with project schedules. Leading and mentoring of junior engineers. Demonstrate full ownership of technical safety related scope.
