This position is based in Ras Laffan, Qatar.<br> <br>Key Responsibilities<br>Oversee Electrical Engineering activities for the onshore project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards and technical requirements.<br>Provide technical guidance to EPC contractors, subcontractors and vendors and support the resolution of electrical engineering issues.<br>Lead electrical engineering activities covering design, procurement and integration to meet project objectives and milestones.<br>Support electrical engineering activities during installation, pre-commissioning, site acceptance testing and commissioning.<br>Provide field engineering support during start-up and early operations through completion of performance testing.<br>Lead and coordinate electrical engineering design and planning activities.<br>Review electrical simulations and optimisation studies covering power generation, distribution systems, HV switchgear, VFDs, large motors and power management systems.<br>Review technical aspects of electrical equipment purchase orders and ensure safe integration of electrical equipment.<br>Monitor EPC contractor deliverables, progress and milestones and provide technical support where required.<br>Coordinate electrical engineering interfaces with offshore, onshore, power suppliers and other relevant third parties.<br>Support commissioning, start-up and system completion activities and provide recommendations on electrical matters.<br> <br>Minimum Requirements<br>Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.<br>8 years of relevant engineering experience, including experience in the Oil & Gas industry and at least 1 year in a supervisory, acting or contractor/vendor oversight role.<br>Experience on a major LNG project is preferred.<br>Broad knowledge of engineering execution, design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria and onshore LNG facilities and utility systems.<br>Strong experience with HV/MV/LV electrical systems, transformers, switchgear and power management systems.<br>Experience with electrical system controls, reactive and active power sharing, power distribution control and large motors 40MW+.<br>Strong understanding of high-voltage and large-scale onshore power design requirements.<br>Excellent written and spoken English.<br>Strong organisational, planning, coordination, technical and management skills.<br>Good communication, influencing and interface skills.<br>Proficient in Microsoft Office.<br><br><br>People are our business worldwide<br> <br>Orion Group was founded in 1987 and is now one of the largest, independent, international recruitment companies. <li>Responsible for overseeing Electrical Engineering activities in Onshore Project, ensuring all technical requirements such as project specifications, data sheets, etc. are in full compliance with project requirements, standardized processes, and are delivered to the highest technical quality standards.</li>

<li>Leads electrical engineering design and planning activities and ensures contractors develop detailed design in accordance with local regulatory requirements, industry standards, project specifications and any approved variations.</li>
<li>Resolve electrical discipline issues to ensure engineering design addresses Project's expectations and objectives. Communicate and elevate issues before they escalate to Project Management when necessary.</li>
<li>Review, evaluate and advise on electrical simulations, optimization, in compliance with design methods, safety factors (for Large Electrical Generation and Distribution System, Large motor drivers, VFDs in both Motoring and Generating modes, combined cycle power generation, HV switchgears, Electrical Integrated Control System (ELICS) and Power management System for Generation, Load sharing and Distribution Control).</li>
<li>Review technical aspects of electrical equipment purchase orders with Contractor and vendors in accordance with the roles and responsibilities stated in applicable contract(s) to ensure safe and seamless integration of new electrical equipment into the existing operating facilities (when applicable).</li>
<li>Assess discipline plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of project activities and provide data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays.</li>
<li>Develop, update and amend design / project philosophies, specifications and procedures ensuring that all references to Electrical Engineering are current and relevant.</li>
<li>Monitor and provide guidance to Contractor to ensure key discipline deliverables, progress / milestones are met.</li>
