Job description:<br><br>JOB PURPOSE:To perform a wide range of duties relating to the electrical installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery, equipment and fixtures to ensure their efficient operation at minimum downtime complying with EHS Guidelines with a focus on continuous improvement. Identifies and reports any abnormalities. Repairs and /or replaces required items and re-assembles and tests the equipment, leaving the working area clean. Effectively diagnoses electrical breakdowns/failures & troubleshoots electrical failures of plant and equipment with (minimum or) no direction. Using the computerized maintenance system (SAP), orders the spare parts from warehouse and maintains records of all maintenance work completed. Company Description Desert Sand Oil & Gas Co. LLC (DSOG) is a 100% Omani service provider supporting oil and gas operators with a broad range of drilling, workover, and well services. The organization offers supply of drilling and workover rigs, rig and hoist ancillary equipment, well control equipment, and specialized tools such as drill strings, handling tools, fishing/milling tools, gas monitors, mud pumps, and choke & kill manifolds. DSOG also provides supply and services for wellheads, completion tools, artificial lift systems, and mud logging services. The company operates an ISO 9001:2008 certified management system, and its Misfah facility is an API Q1 certified machine shop. An upcoming state-of-the-art facility in Adam is being developed to further support efficient field operations and growth opportunities. Role Description The Wellhead Maintenance Engineer / operator is a part-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar, responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of wellhead equipment. This role involves planning and executing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of wellheads and associated components in coordination with field operations teams. The engineer will diagnose mechanical and pressure-control issues, recommend corrective actions, and supervise repairs or replacements to maintain integrity and compliance with industry standards. Daily tasks include reviewing maintenance records, preparing technical reports, updating asset documentation, and supporting adherence to HSSE guidelines. The role also requires close collaboration with supervisors, technicians, and client representatives to schedule interventions, optimize equipment performance, and contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance practices. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in wellhead maintenance, including inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of wellhead assemblies and related pressure-control equipment. Strong knowledge of oil and gas field operations, drilling and workover processes, and well integrity principles. Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and equipment specifications. Solid understanding of HSSE standards and ability to apply safe work practices in field environments. Ability to use maintenance tools, test equipment, and basic diagnostic instruments relevant to wellhead systems. Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with technicians, supervisors, and client representatives. Organizational and time-management skills to plan maintenance activities, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience in wellhead maintenance may be considered. The Contract Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering the end-to-end contract and tendering process for a wide range of organizational requirements, ensuring alignment with QAFAC's strategic objectives, procurement policies, and industry best practices. The role is accountable for managing contracts from initiation through award and post-award administration, ensuring compliance with the approved Scope of Work (SOW), contractual terms and conditions, applicable regulations, and internal procedures. The Contract Specialist reviews and recommends appropriate contract types, prepares contract documentation, manages contract amendments, change orders, and variations, maintains contract records and logs, monitors contract values against approved CAP limits, and ensures timely renewal or replacement of contracts prior to expiry. The position also oversees tender management activities, including reviewing scopes of work and technical specifications, coordinating with Legal and Finance during tender preparation, managing tender announcements and notifications, obtaining QTC tender numbers, conducting market research, preparing bidders' lists, administering technical and commercial bid submissions, participating in negotiations, and recommending contract awards to the relevant tender committees. Additionally, the role develops and maintains competitive supplier sources from local and international markets, identifies opportunities for price agreements and call-off contracts, participates in technical bid evaluations with sponsoring departments, prepares commercial evaluation reports, bid tabulation sheets, and cost analyses, and ensures that all contract documentation and departmental records are securely maintained for future reference. The Contract Specialist is also responsible for preparing work breakdown reports, maintaining contract effective and expiry date records, providing regular progress reports to management and end users, supporting the review and continuous improvement of contract procedures and strategies, ensuring adherence to QAFAC policies, international regulations, and operational procedures, and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance. Success in the role is measured through effective and timely contract tendering, efficient contract preparation and administration, proper management of contract variations and change orders, comprehensive technical and commercial evaluation of tenders, successful post-award contract administration, and effective collaboration with internal stakeholders including the Supply Chain Department, Finance, and Legal, as well as external suppliers and vendors. The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification, together with a minimum of three years' experience in a similar contract management role within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
