This role is crucial in generating workshop revenue by ensuring vehicles are maintained to company standards with minimal repeat repairs. Success in this role requires a focus on fixing vehicles right the first time, maintaining high productivity and efficiency, and adhering to safety and procedural guidelines. The Technician reports to the Service Supervisor and collaborates closely to address challenges such as diagnosing car issues and handling special tools.<br><br>What You Will Do:<br><br>Prompt execution of service repairs requested on the repair order as per schedule provided. Report additional job required in car with cost estimate. Maintain Check Sheets and Log sheets. Upkeep tools and equipment in the individual bay as per company standards. Proper handling of special tools. Proper housekeeping of the work bay. Ensure zero repeat repairs. Proper diagnosis and trouble shooting. Request assistance through Supervisor if required. Conduct final inspection as per the SOP. Deliver the desired efficiency and productivity as per targets given. Ensure prompt punch in and punch out to get the accurate booking hours. Ensure follow-up of standard operating procedures in technician role. Ensure fire extinguishers are kept close by for immediate action in case of working with fuel systems. Use and maintain appropriate PPEs supplied. Participate in workshop meetings. Report all incidents to the supervisor.<br><br>Required Skills To Be Successful:<br><br>Technical problem-solving skills with a focus on first-time repair accuracy. Effective use of special tools and equipment. Capability for E-learning and participating in training development plans. Ability to use workshop manuals and wiring diagrams.<br><br>What Qualifies You For The Role:<br><br>ITI/Diploma in Automobile Engineering.2 to 3 years overall experience as Technician in automotive dealership. Technical skills, user skills in tools and equipment, basic PC skills, motor driving experience, and knowledge on automotive parts. The role involves performing routine vehicle inspections, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and completing necessary repairs and adjustments. Day-to-day tasks include conducting oil changes, brake and suspension checks, and general vehicle maintenance to ensure fleet reliability and safety. The technician will maintain accurate service records, follow workshop safety procedures, and collaborate with colleagues to meet operational timelines. The role also requires communicating clearly about repair needs and providing recommendations for preventative maintenance.<br>Qualifications<br> Candidates should possess skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for light and heavy vehicles. Candidates should possess skills in Automotive Repair and Suspension diagnostics and adjustments. Candidates should possess skills in performing routine Oil Changes and related fluid checks. Technical diploma or certificate in automotive technology or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, ideally within a fleet or construction environment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and diagnostic reports. Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and ability to work in a fast-paced workshop setting. Basic computer skills for maintaining service logs and using diagnostic tools; valid driver’s license is an advantage.
