We are looking for an experienced Senior Corrosion Engineer to provide technical expertise in corrosion engineering, ensuring effective corrosion monitoring, control and mitigation across oil and gas facilities. The role will support the integrity, safety, reliability and environmental performance of facilities while reviewing corrosion-related requirements for new projects and modifications. Contract duration: 24months to 36 months initial contract duration. Onshore Base. NFPS Compression project prefers candidates with Offshore experience. Minimum Requirements Review material and design requirements for new projects and modifications, including corrosion monitoring and control programs. Develop and implement corrosion control and monitoring programs covering: Cathodic protection Protective coatings and linings Chemical inhibition Corrosion monitoring systems Conduct corrosion monitoring, prevention activities and corrosion investigations. Monitor Integrity Operating Windows affecting corrosion and equipment life and provide recommendations to Operations. Develop Statements of Work (SOWs) for corrosion-related studies, investigations and contracts. Review technical reports and test results related to corrosion control, chemical selection and failure analysis. Develop coating and painting requirements for pipelines, structures, equipment and tanks. Provide recommendations on coating systems, application procedures and quality control requirements. Inspect coating conditions and coordinate with inspectors to ensure appropriate quality control. Provide technical advice on corrosion engineering to internal teams, vendors, consultants and other external stakeholders. Develop and maintain corrosion and integrity-related procedures, standards, processes and best practices. Develop and implement corrosion engineering programs for offshore and onshore facilities, pipelines, process plants, storage facilities and export/loading facilities. Review corrosion engineering reports, test results and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions. Perform risk assessments related to corrosion and equipment integrity. Provide technical expertise in corrosion control and mitigation methods, including chemical treatment, cathodic protection, material selection, protective coatings, linings and corrosive process conditions. Raise and manage technical change requests related to corrosion studies, cathodic protection, coatings and linings. Liaise with operations, maintenance, engineering, HSE, inspection, procurement and other relevant departments on corrosion-related matters. Support the evaluation of corrosion service providers, laboratories, consultants and specialist contractors. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering. Experience & Technical Knowledge Minimum 6 years of experience in corrosion control and mitigation within the Oil & Gas industry. Strong knowledge and practical experience in: Chemical inhibition Corrosion monitoring Material selection Corrosion and material degradation mechanisms Failure analysis Sour service Protective coatings and linings Cathodic protection Experience with corrosion systems and plant facilities involving sour feed gas and exposure to marine environments, including utilities facilities. Good knowledge of national and local regulations, international codes and standards, statutory requirements, NDT and inspection techniques. Experience in corrosion management within both onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities is preferred. Skills & Competencies Good written and spoken English. Job Purpose Apply the acquired knowledge and experience in developing methods and processes to prevent, or reduce, the likelihood or frequency of failures in I&E systems and assets. Accountabilities Day to Day Accountabilities: (for I&E Reliability Engineer with major Experience in Electrical) Advise and assist Maintenance I&E Engineers, electricians and production supervisors on complex electrical repairs and troubleshooting methodologies. Develop and implement Reliability strategies by utilizing conventional techniques such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Preventive and Predictive maintenance (PPM) strategies, and other industry accepted reliability techniques to analyse Electrical equipment failures and produce cost effective strategies to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant. Carry out detailed engineering calculations using ETAP (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, Protection Relays Selectivity and Coordination) and develop drawings including Single Line Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Interconnection drawings, electrical equipment data sheets etc. Implement Mechanical Integrity & Quality Assurance best practices. Work with other concerned departments to develop & execute appropriate Quality Assurance (QA) practices and develop a mechanism to assess the effectiveness of QA practices. Proactively identify Electrical Equipment Reliability Issues and develop engineering solutions for chronic and sporadic equipment reliability problems. Work with technical, production and maintenance departments to implement solutions. Lead Reliability Improvement efforts of the plant from the platform of Reliability Improvement Teams(RITs). Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis to identify various failure modes and recommend strategies to help improve I&E equipment reliability. Evaluate RCA reports, criticality studies, equipment strategies, and risk assessments on equipment to ensure consistency and compliance with company procedures and policies. Evaluate facility incidents that affect reliability and ensure that appropriate RCAs are performed. Assist in tracking RCA findings and completing action items in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities Planning of man hour budgets, schedules, manpower loadings and staffing requirements, by skill and experience, to satisfy project requirements and direction given by the Discipline Manager. Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements. Ensures team member adherence to accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates. Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful. Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence. Identifies software necessary to enable Civil Structural group to function effectively. Completed structural analysis and design of on-shore oil and gas processing facilities:Concrete and Structural steel piperacks, storage tanks foundation, Vertical vessels foundations, Horizontal vessels and Heat exchangers foundation and Pipe supports etc. Infrastructures (Electrical Substations, Potable and Foul water pumping stations and water tanks) Buildings (Utility and Non-utility buildings) Ensures recognised onshore & offshore engineering practices applicable to Civil Structural design engineering are adopted within the discipline. Review designs, sketches and reports with supporting calculations for projects, and supply drafting staff with information to assist in the production of detailed drawings, the development of quantities, materials lists and cost estimates as required. Collaborates with project team in review of project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules. Leads weekly Civil Structural meetings, reviews progress reports and required checking procedures. Initiate, manage and supervise engineering assignments on projects that meet project requirements on time and within budget. Organise and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of Civil Structural discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule. Understands and applies the Project Execution Plan (PEP) requirements - make-up and application (including the Engineering Plan). Reviews data from multiple sources and prepares engineering studies, analyses, calculations, and recommend actions. Crafts recommendations and reviews final documentation prior to customer approval. Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc. Establish a list of discipline deliverables. Controls, monitors and progresses these deliverables to an agreed schedule. Reviews final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursues customer approval. Review similar documentation to assist others and reviews/authorizes work done by direct reports. Lead the production of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations and reports. Quality Assurance Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems. Work with project managers/project engineers to ensure all projects are set up and executed in full compliance with all the requirements of the Worley Project Management Process (WPMP) and General Management System (EMS) using consistent approaches, Work Breakdown Structures, work methodologies and reporting systems. Monitors the closure of all identified risks and opportunities. Safety Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures. Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university. MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage. Industry Specific Experience Extensive work experience at a senior level within the Oil & Gas industry . Sound design experience within the oil and gas industry in Onshore projects, with last 5 years’ at least, leading a team of Civil Structural discipline engineers and designers Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the Civil Structural discipline in the same or similar industry, including experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary projects and teams. <h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> Reporting into the Dukhan Programme Manager, this role is responsible for: The Procurement Engineer is responsible for all Dukhan procurement activities and deliverables. Working primarily from the Dukhan site, the Procurement Engineer must ensure the Dukhan requirements are met and, through the Dukhan Programme Manager, the role will ensure the relevant stakeholders are informed and up to date on all procurement activities. Ultimately, the role will be responsible for driving the timely execution of onsite procurement requirements whilst working to support the Qatar Branch Office Procurement to develop sourcing solutions and strategies that drive a value-added procurement service. Additionally, the Procurement Engineer must be proactive in engaging Dukhan department managers and team leads to better understand extant and emerging requirements and provide solutions or alternatives when issues occur. Whilst responsible to the Dukhan Programme Manager on a day to day basis, the Procurement Engineer will functionally report to and be accountable to the Qatar Branch Office Procurement Officer. As a result, the role will ensure the Qatar Branch Office Procurement Officer is up to date on all on-going and future activities, lessons learned and provided with any Dukhan issues or concerns that require escalation. Core Activity Responsibilities of the Dukhan Procurement Engineer include: • Development and implementation of a tailored Dukhan Procurement Plan, whilst ensuring adherence to BAE Systems Procurement Functional governance. • In coordination with the Qatar Branch Office Procurement Officer, engaging BAE System Procurement function to ensure relevant stakeholders remain informed and up to date on technical activities. • Be the Procurement Focal Point for all on-base FSR’s, managing and measuring the day to day contractual performance of the FSR’s iaw. their relevant commercial framework. • Provide monthly management reports on FSR performance to relevant Procurement Functional individuals who hold responsibility for the respective suppliers. • Provide VFM analysis on FSR performance against their contractual framework, making suggests to the Procurement Function and Qatar Branch Office stakeholders as to routes to additional efficiency/cost savings in future contract negotiations • Remain proactive in communications with all stakeholders for the identification and on-going management of Dukhan requirements. • Develop knowledge of local markets and suppliers to better inform the ability to meet requirements.• Carry out tenders to ensure the most suitable suppliers are utilised whilst implementing cost saving strategies to achieve project cost targets for high value items. • Collaborate effectively with all requirement owners to ensure appropriate supplier are engaged and end-user requirements fully understood and communicated. • Regularly inform relevant stakeholders on lead times to manage end-user expectations. • Engage the Dukhan department managers to ensure mutual understanding and management of the onshore order book, commitment and spend profiles • Establish robust, trusted relationships with suppliers for current and potential future requirements, across the Qatar program. • Ensure the Qatar Branch Office Procurement Officer is provided with regular updates on supplier activities and lessons learned for application across the Qatar programme • Following procurement function guidance and process, raise all relevant documentation related to Dukhan orders and demands. • Engage Dukhan stakeholders to drive timely complete of purchase order documentation in-line with requirements. • Prepare and agree the appropriate Procurement artefacts are in place to facilitate successful contract execution with any Qatari Suppliers (e.g. DMF’s, Purchase Orders, Payment Plans, CoA’s, and Invoice Transaction). • Work closely with relevant stakeholders within Qatar Branch Office to ensure all Supplier invoices are processed and paid in timely manner e.g. Finance Manager. • Manage all supplier visits to Dukhan, taking careful consideration of rules and regulations of an active military airbase. • Implementation of manageable solution for turnkey, repeatable solutions. • Provide comprehensive documentation, on a monthly basis, to inform all UK, Qatar Branch Office and Dukhan personnel on procurement activities. • Establish close working relationships with legal and export control functions to ensure all onshore procurement activities are legal and compliant. • Ensure any new potential Qatari Suppliers are taken through the due diligence process, in full, prior to engagement. • Be present with suppliers and vendors, at their location, to help mature requirement understanding. E.g., producing and collecting samples for further discussions and subsequently providing feedback. The Procurement Engineer will often be suppliers only point of contact with BAE Systems, as a result, the Procurement Engineering is expected to act professionally at all times, demonstrating BAE Systems behaviours whilst representing the organisation. Technical decisions and engineering judgments have considerable safety, cost and/or schedule impact. Requires ability to influence people and work in multi discipline/cultural environment.
