The Customer Service Technician serves as a critical first point of contact for emergencies and urgent service requests at Al Udeid Air Base. Overview<br><br>We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, operate, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential, commercial, or industrial facilities. The role ensures HVAC systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.<br><br>Your role<br><br>Install, test, commission, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including:Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, DX units, VRF/VRV systems Split & packaged units, exhaust/fresh air systems Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as per schedules. Diagnose system faults and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues. Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. Ensure refrigerant charging, pressure testing, vacuuming, and leak detection are conducted properly. Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency. Ensure compliance with HSE standards, local codes, and project quality requirements. Maintain service reports, maintenance logs, and records. Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades as required. Respond to emergency breakdowns when required.<br>About You<br><br>Qualifications & Experience<br><br>Diploma/ITI in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or equivalent. Minimum 3–7 years of hands-on HVAC experience (project/facilities-based). Strong knowledge of HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Experience in GCC/UAE projects preferred. Job Purpose Support Expansion Project Mechanical activities for pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation and start-up tasks and conduct Mechanical field maintenance activities safely, including preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance to ensure reliability and availability of Company Assets (North, South, RLTO & Refining, Barzan and NFE facilities). Key Job Accountabilities Participates in pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation and start-up of new equipment and facilities. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance work on field Mechanical equipment as directed in the field and workshop in line with safe work practices. Ensure that material and spare parts are available and in good condition before starting maintenance activities as per work plan. Ensure applicable maintenance procedures are followed and ensure proper controls are in place to ensure safe workplace. Provides accurate records and close-out reports of all completed work as per company requirements, as requested and guided by Foreman/Supervisor. Participates in troubleshooting of Mechanical field issues, as directed and guided by Foreman/Supervisor and issues timely reports. Review the Piping & Instrument Diagram and Drawings (P&IDs,) loop drawings, hook-up drawings, Mechanical Index, Mechanical datasheets, logic diagrams and other documents required to tackle issues related to Mechanical field. Perform calibrated and certified tools specific for the job type and ensure requirements for Intrinsic Safety (IS). Participates in Regular Toolbox meeting with colleagues and reports all Near Misses, Incidents and Accidents during operation by raising B-Safe and observation cards Qualifications Completion of Secondary School education followed by vocational training program (TAFE). Knowledge and/or Experience 3 years’ experience as a technician in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry Technical and Business Skills Extensive experience in the operation, maintenance and condition monitoring of Mechanical equipment eg: turbines, pumps, compressors, valves, exchangers, vessels and associated equipment. Good written and oral communication skills in English. Good adaptability to multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs. Computer literate with basic knowledge in MS Office software
