<p>The Senior Director, Academic Services is a new position within the Education Office at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, reporting to the Senior Associate Dean, Education. The Senior Director has primary responsibility for academic advising and student success, course scheduling and registration management, and student financial services, and supervises a team of four academic advisors, the Director of Student Academic Success, and the Manager, Student Financial Services. Strategic Leadership In collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean, Education, the Senior Director develops and manages a strategic vision for student services, including: Monitoring overall student progress toward degree completion to identify and address problem cases and systemic issues; Ensuring students have adequate information to make informed decisions about course and degree options, and are aware of and in compliance with academic policies; Identifying recurring student concerns and proposing institutional solutions; Partnering with the Director of Student Academic Success to manage academic action plans and success interventions for students on academic probation or warning; Ensuring students receive accurate financial aid counseling and are prepared to meet their financial obligations, in partnership with the Manager, Student Financial Services. Define and apply best practice contracting terms by category. Set up strong vendor management from vendor market analysis to vendor administrative database maintenance and link with TPRM on his/her category: Consolidate and update active (and then preferred vendors) repository.
