The Joinery Estimator will review architectural and interior design drawings, specifications, and site conditions to prepare detailed cost estimates for joinery and custom furniture works. Day-to-day tasks include quantifying materials, labor, and fabrication requirements; preparing bills of quantities; and obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations. The role involves preparing clear and competitive pricing proposals, value-engineering options, and bid documentation for tenders and negotiated projects. The Joinery Estimator will coordinate with the design, production, and procurement teams to confirm feasibility, optimize material usage, and ensure estimates align with workshop capabilities and installation methods. The individual in this role will also support project handover, assist in budget tracking, and update cost databases based on actual project performance.<br>Qualifications<br> <br>Strong joinery estimation skills, including reading and interpreting architectural and interior design drawings, preparing bills of quantities, and developing accurate cost breakdowns for custom joinery and furniture. Solid technical knowledge of joinery materials, fittings, finishes, hardware, and manufacturing processes, including CNC-based production and workshop capabilities. Proficiency with estimation and office software (e.g., Excel, estimating tools, and basic CAD or drawing review software) to quantify items and prepare professional cost proposals. Experience coordinating with design, procurement, and site teams to clarify scope, resolve discrepancies, and align estimates with project schedules and installation requirements. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to work under time constraints and manage multiple tenders or quotations. Timely attendance to receive enquiries and preparation of estimates using our proprietary estimation system.<br><br>Duties And Responsibilities<br><br>Receipt of contract enquiries, reviewing and preparing a plan of action to price the enquiries assigned within the deadline requested. Ability to follow through enquiry from client and help clarify scope to achieve quote accuracy in line with client’s instructions / expectations. Liaise with the line manager and other team members to develop the overall strategy for the tender. Send out enquiries to the supply chain to ensure the best prices are received by selecting the most suitable suppliers / manufacturing location for the project. Liaise and request support from other individuals in the organization to produce programmes and quality submissions as dictated by the enquiry/RFQ. Analyze the supply chain quotes & negotiate the best costs with knowledge of raw material costs & manufacturing rate across various economies.
