<li>Previous experience, preferably in a hotel or a similar varied work environment such as ships, hospitals, or retail businesses</li>
<li>A mechanical trade qualification, required</li>
<li>Current knowledge of general maintenance, engineering work, and guest room repairs</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills - ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes</li>
<li>Strong work ethic</li>

<li>Maintain a shift log book as a record for all occurrences during the assigned shift</li>
<li>Carry out preventive maintenance tasks whenever assigned, making sure to fully complete the required documentation</li>
<li>Respond immediately to all emergency calls for leakage, fire, power, etc.</li>
<li>Ensure the implementation of all instructions given by the assistant director of engineering or duty foreman</li>
<li>Help with the installation of new equipment when required</li>
<li>Be responsible for cleanliness and protection of surroundings whilst performing work</li>
<li>Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned and be capable of multitasking</li>
<li>Respond to changes in the function as dictated by the industry, company, or the hotel</li>
