Purpose of the Role To lead the design, coordination, and delivery of plumbing and fire protection systems for construction projects, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality engineering solutions aligned with project requirements and international standards.<br>2. Key Responsibilities A. Plumbing System Design<br> Lead design of domestic water supply, drainage, sewage, storm water, and irrigation systems.<br> Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and equipment selection (pumps, tanks, heaters, etc.).<br> Prepare design layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings.<br> B. Fire Protection System Design<br> Design firefighting systems including sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire hose reels, and fire pumps.<br> Perform hydraulic calculations and system sizing as per NFPA standards.<br> Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for fire protection systems.<br> C. Design Coordination<br> Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines.<br> Ensure proper integration of plumbing and firefighting systems within building design.<br> Identify and resolve design clashes using BIM tools.<br> D. Codes & Compliance<br> Ensure compliance with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), NFPA, and local authority regulations.<br> Prepare and review design submissions for authority approvals.<br> Liaise with civil defense and relevant authorities when required.<br> E. Technical Review<br> Review and approve shop drawings, material submittal, and method statements.<br> Respond to RFIs and provide technical clarifications.<br> Participate in design reviews and value engineering initiatives.<br> F. Construction Support<br> Provide technical support during the construction phase.<br> Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved design.<br> Support testing & commissioning of plumbing and firefighting systems.<br> <br><br><br>Requirements<br><br>Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering<br> UPDA/MMUP Certification (mandatory / preferred as per company requirement)<br> 10–12 years of experience in plumbing & fire protection design within construction projects<br> Strong experience in consultancy or contractor design environment<br> Technical Skills Expertise in plumbing and firefighting system design<br> Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, IPC/UPC, and local regulations<br> Proficiency in Auto CAD, Revit, BIM tools<br> Experience with hydraulic calculation software (e.g., Elite, Pipe Flow, etc.)
