Learn more about IOM’s workplace culture at IOM workplace culture | International Organization for Migration<br><br>Project Context and Scope<br><br>Under the overall supervision of Protection Coordinator and the direct supervision and guidance of the Protection Officer - and in close coordination with the respective units and partners in Camp As Saliyah – the incumbent will implement Protection programmatic response in line with internal policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) guidelines, principles and tools on Protection, including, Gender-based Violence (GBV) and Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.<br><br>Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing<br><br>Protection Unit<br><br>Responsibilities<br><br>Tasks to be performed under this contract<br><br>Support targeted protection assessments and consultations with affected populations, including focus group discussions, household-level follow-up, key informant interviews and other participatory methods, with a focus on identifying remaining protection needs during the operational transition and closure period. Provide temporary operational support to protection case management activities, including follow-up on pending cases, coordination with relevant service providers, referrals, documentation of actions taken, and support the in-kind assistance where required to address immediate and time-sensitive protection needs. Support the ongoing delivery of other protection interventions and activities, such as, management of the Child Friendly Space (CFS), community-based protection et al. Support the planning, organization and documentation of protection assessments, community interventions and case closure-related consultations, including preparation of notes and summary findings. Retrieve, compile, summarize and present protection-related information and data, including regular updates to unit trackers, project monitoring tools, case follow-up lists, closure checklists and other operational records required for reporting and handover. Support the preparation of operational closure materials, including summaries of completed activities, pending actions, lessons learned, service mapping updates, referral information, filing systems and documentation required for internal review, reporting or handover purposes. Perform other related duties as required within the scope of the consultancy and in line with the temporary operational support.<br><br>Performance indicators for the evaluation of results<br><br>Timely and satisfactory completion of all agreed deliverables in line with the workplan and established deadlines. Technical quality, accuracy and operational relevance of the outputs, ensuring alignment with protection principles, confidentiality, do no harm, PSEA, child safeguarding and data protection standards. Effective coordination and communication with the supervisor, relevant colleagues and stakeholders, including timely updates and incorporation of feedback. Contribution of the consultancy to strengthening protection programming, tools, guidance, capacity-building and/or service delivery.<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Required Qualifications and Experience<br><br>High School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or other related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience. Experience with case management for at-risk individuals in an emergency response. Experience in coordinating and managing needs of those at-risk and/or Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASCs) is a distinct advantage. Strong interpersonal, counselling and communication skills. Strong skills in community outreach and building relations with key community leaders and groups Sound ability to communicate practical knowledge on actions to address Protection issues at the operational level. Demonstrated analytical, writing and reporting skills. Solid computer skills (MS Excel, Word and Power Point). Can locate and apply key Inter-Agency Protection Resources. <br><br>Languages<br><br>For this consultancy, fluency in English is required.
