Castamo is looking for a proactive and results-driven Project Sales & Business Development Executive who can actively generate new business, build professional relationships and bring qualified clients to our showroom. This is a hands-on sales position. It is not a showroom desk job, a design-only position or a management title without fieldwork. Main Responsibilities Morning Shift – Business Development & Field Sales Identify and contact potential companies and project clients. Conduct regular field visits to contractors, interior designers, architects, consultants, developers, hotels, restaurants and procurement departments. Introduce Castamo’s furniture, custom manufacturing, interior design and fit-out services. Build relationships with decision-makers and identify upcoming projects. Arrange qualified client meetings and showroom visits. Generate new project opportunities through calls, visits, networking and professional follow-up. Evening Shift – Showroom Sales & Planning Welcome and assist the clients invited to the showroom. Understand their project requirements and coordinate with the design team for moodboards, selections, BOQs and quotations. Follow up on existing leads and proposals until a clear decision is received. Prepare and organize prospect lists, company databases and follow-up schedules. Update the CRM with every call, visit, meeting and opportunity. Prepare the call and visit plan for the following working day. Assist with showroom operations and remain responsible until the showroom closes at 10:00 PM. Previous experience in furniture, interior design, fit-out, building materials, construction, hospitality or a related sector is strongly preferred. Fluent Arabic and good English are required. Valid Qatar driving licence is required; having a car is preferred. Proven ability to conduct cold calls, field visits and face-to-face business meetings. Department: NUQ Liberal Arts Program<br><br>Northwestern University in Qatar seeks an outstanding colleague for a full-time open rank faculty appointment in Evidenced Based Storytelling and Writing, to be appointed in the Liberal Arts Program. We welcome scholars with an active research agenda that focuses on Writing Studies in the Global South, with preference given to scholars who focus on Africa, the Arab world, or South Asia, whose work is comparative or transnational, whose work includes such areas as rhetoric and composition, second language writing, or creative writing, and who include a diversity of perspectives in their analysis. Candidates could come from rhetoric and composition, writing studies, creative writing, or a related discipline. Candidates are expected to have linguistic competence and field experience in their area of research.<br><br>In addition to a demonstrated research record commensurate with rank, or a highly promising research trajectory for emerging candidates with a recent PhD, applicants should show competence in working with global communities, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring, and dedication to institutional service and shared governance. Candidates are expected to contribute to both undergraduate and future graduate education and program development. Teaching expectations include two courses per semester, primarily within NU-Q’s First-Year Writing seminar, but with the possibility of electives courses elective courses that speak to their research field, as well as contribution to NU-Q’s broader curricular needs. This could include courses qualifying for our university’s growing number of interdisciplinary minors, such as AI and Media Studies, Media and Politics, Strategic Communication, Film and Design, Middle East Studies, and Africana Studies. There are also opportunities to collaborate with NU-Q’s Institute for Advanced Study of the Global South, Artificial Intelligence and Media Lab, and Media Majlis Museum.<br><br>NU-Q is a community of evidence-based storytellers in the Global South. You will support the integration of roads, utilities, drainage, grading, underground infrastructure, public realm, and site development works with architectural, MEP, landscape, utility, and themed entertainment systems.</p> <p> </p> What You ll Be Doing: <ul> <li>Provide technical engineering support for the delivery of the Project Management Consultancy services throughout all project phases.</li> <li>Review and coordinate civil, structural, infrastructure, and external works deliverables to ensure technical consistency, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.</li> <li>Support the coordination and integration of roads, utilities, grading, drainage, underground infrastructure, external works, public realm, and site development works.</li> <li>Coordinate civil engineering interfaces between the Lead Design Consultant, Architect of Record, Design & Build Contractor, Supervision Consultant, specialist designers, attraction vendors, operators, and utility providers.</li> <li>Review engineering reports, design submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical queries related to civil and infrastructure works.</li> <li>Support constructability reviews and technical evaluations to identify engineering risks, interface conflicts, and opportunities for design optimization and value engineering.</li> <li>Monitor engineering progress and support the timely resolution of technical issues that may affect project cost, schedule, quality, procurement, or construction activities.</li> <li>Coordinate civil engineering support during procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, and handover to facilitate the successful delivery of infrastructure and external works.</li> <li>Support multidisciplinary coordination for utility corridors, road networks, site grading, stormwater drainage, external utilities, retaining structures, and public realm infrastructure.</li> <li>Provide technical oversight for civil infrastructure supporting themed attractions, entertainment facilities, ride foundations, feature structures, water attractions, and associated external works.</li> <li>Assist in reviewing engineering-related RFIs, design clarifications, variations, and technical change requests, including their potential impacts on the Project.</li> <li>Coordinate with the BIM team to support multidisciplinary model coordination, clash detection, and engineering integration.</li> <li>Support the review of as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, infrastructure records, and engineering handover documentation.</li> <li>Maintain engineering coordination registers, technical review records, action trackers, and related documentation within the Electronic Document Management System.</li> </ul> <p> </p> What Required Skills You ll Bring: <ul> <li>Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.</li> <li>Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent professional registration is preferred.</li> <li>Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering design, technical coordination, or Project Management Consultancy for major hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use, or destination developments.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience coordinating large-scale civil infrastructure and site development works on multidisciplinary projects.</li> <li>Proven experience supporting themed entertainment developments, integrated resorts, luxury hospitality developments, or complex mixed-use destinations is highly desirable.</li> <li>Strong experience with roads, utilities, drainage, grading, underground infrastructure, external works, and public realm development.</li> <li>Experience working on Design & Build projects through design, construction, testing and commissioning, and handover.</li> <li>Strong understanding of applicable international engineering codes, standards, and industry best practices.</li> <li>GCC experience is highly desirable.</li> </ul> <p> </p> What Desired Skills You ll Bring: <ul> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering, infrastructure delivery, and multidisciplinary engineering coordination for major hospitality, entertainment, and mixed-use developments.</li> <li>Strong understanding of roads, utilities, grading, drainage, underground infrastructure, external works, public realm, and site development engineering.</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of civil engineering coordination, constructability reviews, engineering interface management, value engineering, and technical design reviews.</li> <li>Strong understanding of civil infrastructure supporting themed attractions, ride foundations, feature structures, water attractions, utility networks, and large-scale public spaces.</li> <li>Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering stakeholders, including Lead Design Consultants, </li></ul>
