Receives verbal/written instructions from Sr. Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer, obtains permit through RIS, identify, and organizes tools, tackles & spares from store and completes the maintenance work as assigned with minimum supervision.

Carries out Preventive/Corrective maintenance of all types of Rotary equipment, which includes assembly/disassembly, bearings & seal renewal, alignment correction, etc. then record all activities in the PM checklist.

To perform the lubrication of the rotary equipment including checking / filling lube oil/grease in bearing housings, oil consoles, crank cases etc. Replacement and cleaning of lube oil systems, filters, lube oil sight glasses, hydraulic oil filters, maintain auto greasing and drip-feeding systems etc. Recommend/request asset integrity team to perform oil analysis, if required.

Coordinates closely with other maintenance disciplines and other departments to complete the assigned jobs.

<b>About the Role </b><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Electrical Maintenance Technician Water / Desalination</strong> to join a major industrial water/desalination operation.</p> <p>The role will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the plant's electrical systems and equipment, including <strong>MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motors, transformers, pumps, UPS systems, and electrical control systems</strong>.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience and be comfortable working in a <strong>plant environment</strong>, including preventive maintenance, emergency breakdowns, commissioning, shutdowns, and electrical isolation activities.</p> Key Responsibilities <ul> <li> <p>Perform <strong>preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance</strong> on electrical equipment and systems.</p> </li> <li> <p>Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Motors and pumps</p> </li> <li> <p>Motor Control Centers (MCCs)</p> </li> <li> <p>Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)</p> </li> <li> <p>MV/LV switchgear</p> </li> <li> <p>Power transformers</p> </li> <li> <p>LV/MV power distribution systems</p> </li> <li> <p>Electrical panels and control circuits</p> </li> <li> <p>PLC and SCADA-related electrical components</p> </li> <li> <p>UPS systems</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <p>Inspect, test, and maintain <strong>electrical panels, breakers, protection relays, and control circuits</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on <strong>MV and LV switchgear and VFDs</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Conduct insulation resistance testing using appropriate test equipment.</p> </li> <li> <p>Support maintenance and testing of <strong>protection relays and circuit breakers</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Carry out electrical isolation and de-isolation activities in accordance with approved procedures.</p> </li> <li> <p>Assist with plant <strong>startup, shutdown, testing, and commissioning</strong> activities.</p> </li> <li> <p>Monitor plant electrical performance and identify potential equipment failures.</p> </li> <li> <p>Read and interpret <strong>electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, control schematics, and wiring diagrams</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensure compliance with <strong>LOTO, Permit-to-Work, and electrical safety procedures</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinate with Operations, Mechanical, and Instrumentation teams to minimize plant downtime.</p> </li> <li> <p>Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and spare-parts information.</p> </li> <li> <p>Respond to emergency electrical breakdowns and support <strong>shift-based maintenance</strong> when required.</p> </li> </ul> Required Qualifications & Experience <ul> <li> <p> <strong>Diploma, ITI, or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Technology.</strong> </p> </li> <li> <p> <strong>3 5+ years of hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience.</strong> </p> </li> <li> <p>Strong experience with <strong>MV and LV electrical systems</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Hands-on experience with <strong>switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motors, transformers, and circuit breakers</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with electrical protection relays and associated equipment.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to read and interpret <strong>electrical control schematics and single-line diagrams</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with <strong>electrical testing</strong>, including insulation resistance testing.</p> </li> <li> <p>Knowledge of <strong>LOTO and electrical isolation/de-isolation procedures</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Knowledge of Permit-to-Work and industrial electrical safety procedures.</p> </li> </ul> Preferred Experience <ul> <li> <p>Water treatment, wastewater treatment, or <strong>desalination plant</strong> experience.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with <strong>RO plant equipment</strong>, particularly high-pressure and feed-water pumps.</p> </li> <li> <p>PLC and SCADA exposure.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with generators and UPS systems.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience in plant commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities.</p> </li> </ul> Key Skills <ul> <li> <p>Industrial Electrical Maintenance</p> </li> <li> <p>MV/LV Switchgear</p> </li> <li> <p>VFDs</p> </li> <li> <p>MCCs</p> </li> <li> <p>Motors & Pumps</p> </li> <li> <p>Power Transformers</p> </li> <li> <p>Protection Relays</p> </li> <li> <p>Circuit Breakers</p> </li> <li> <p>UPS Systems</p> </li> <li> <p>Insulation Resistance Testing</p> </li> <li> <p>Electrical Troubleshooting</p> </li> <li> <p>Electrical Drawings & SLDs</p> </li> <li> <p>LOTO & Electrical Isolation</p> </li> <li> <p>Preventive & Predictive Maintenance</p> </li> <li> <p>Plant Commissioning</p> </li> <li> <p>PTW & HSE Compliance</p> </li> </ul>
