Lead a team of Underwriting Managers, Assistant Underwriting Manager, Underwriting officers in day-to-day supervision and mentoring on the department’s underwriting operations. Maintain, manage and develop relationships with new/existing corporate clients and brokers in Property, Engineering, Casualty and General Accident insurance products to achieve stickiness, business retention, profitable growth and superior service delivery. Job responsibility includes liaising with various cross functional departments viz. reinsurance, claims, actuarial, finance, accounts, legal, compliance for smooth running of the business. Ideal candidate is expected to have very good relationship in the reinsurance markets with leading reinsurance brokers and underwriters in London, DIFC and Singapore which would facilitate to obtain competitive reinsurance terms and placement support. Job includes underwriting of good quality risks in line with the assigned underwriting authority including arranging facultative reinsurance where required and review of policy & endorsement wordings & contracts, ensuring technical accuracy of all transactions within the department in line with treaty and facultative reinsurance conditions and operations & authorities manual, handling audit queries, tracking of timeliness of documentation flow, supporting digitization efforts of the business operations and MIS reporting.
