The Airfield Sweeping Technician performs airfield sweeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) removal operations to ensure runways, taxiways, aprons, ramps, and associated paved surfaces remain safe for aircraft operations at Al Udeid Air Base. This position supports continuous airfield operations by operating sweeping equipment and following established safety, security, and operational procedures in compliance with U. S. military, host nation, and contract requirements.<br><br>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<br><br>Operate airfield sweeping equipment, including mechanical and vacuum sweepers Perform FOD removal on runways, taxiways, aprons, ramps, and shoulders Conduct visual inspections of airfield surfaces before, during, and after sweeping operations Follow airfield safety procedures and FOD prevention programs at all times Coordinate movement area access with Airfield Management and ATC as directed Complete required inspection checklists, logs, and operational reports Perform basic preventive maintenance checks on sweeping equipment and vehicles Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards Use required PPE and follow all safety and security protocols Support emergencies or urgent airfield cleaning operations as directed<br><br>Requirements<br><br>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:<br><br>High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1-3 years of airfield operations, airfield maintenance, or sweeping experience Knowledge of FOD prevention principles and airfield safety procedures Ability to operate heavy or specialized sweeping equipment<br><br>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<br><br>Must possess a valid U.
