The role-holder is required to promote, follow, and ensure fulfillment of the relevant requirements of the Company's Occupational Health & Safety, Environment, Quality, Process Safety, and Information Security standards throughout all project phases to guarantee the technical integrity, long-term asset reliability, and safe execution of QAFCO's capital developments</p><br><br><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><br><br><p><strong>Project Development & Concept Design</strong></p><br><br><ul><li>Lead static equipment sizing and selection studies during concept and feasibility phases.<br>• Develop static equipment design philosophy for new units and modification projects, ensuring all designs comply with international codes, process requirements, and QAFCO engineering standards.<br>• Promote innovative solutions in static equipment specifications to corporate sustainability goals.<br>• Provide advanced technical expertise and problem-solving support during equipment fabrication, inspection, testing and commissioning to resolve structural or material anomalies and prevent future operational defects.</li></ul><p><strong>FEED Development</strong></p><br><br><p>• Develop static equipment lists, design basis, and preliminary datasheets during FEED.<br>• Review licensor and contractor static equipment design packages for technical compliance.</p><br><br><p><strong>Detailed Engineering & Execution Support</strong></p><br><br><p>Review detailed static equipment design, calculations, and drawings during EPC execution.<br>• Resolve technical queries related to static equipment design, materials, and fabrication.<br>• Review vendor design calculations, material certificates, and inspection/test plans during fabrication.<br>• Participate actively in cross-functional project safety reviews, including HAZOP, SIL, and Process Safety Management (PSM) assessments, to identify, mitigate, and eliminate potential design hazards related to static equipment.</p><br><br><p><strong>Procurement Support & Technical Bid Evaluation</strong></p><br><br><p>Prepare and review static equipment technical specifications, datasheets and requisition package for pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, filters, and any pressure equipment.<br>• Manage the technical evaluation of vendor bids and clarify complex engineering queries during the procurement phase to ensure only technically qualified suppliers are selected verifying compliance with ASME/API codes and Company specifications</p><br><br>
<br> Profile <br><p>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. 8-12 years of static equipment engineering, preferably in ammonia and urea projects, including new equipment specification, technical bid evaluation, and vendor design review. API 510/570/653 certification is preferred. Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII and project procurement processes and familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, PV Elite, CAESAR II)</p><br><br><p>SME-level expertise in static equipment reliability, inspection, and integrity management</p><br><br><p>You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office</p><br><br><p>SPIE Global Services Energy is committed to promote diversity. Job Summary<br><br>We are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of an industrial workshop, ensuring efficient production, maintenance, manpower utilization, quality, safety, and timely completion of workshop activities. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in fabrication, mechanical works, piping, equipment maintenance, and workshop management, preferably within the Oil & Gas, EPC, or industrial sector.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Manage and supervise all daily workshop activities, including fabrication, Mechanical, piping, welding, assembly, and repair works. Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, tools, and materials according to project requirements. Monitor workshop production schedules and ensure timely completion of assigned works. Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, QA/QC, HSE, Procurement, and Stores teams. Review drawings, specifications, work orders, and project requirements before commencing workshop activities. Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of workshop machinery, equipment, tools, and facilities. Monitor fabrication and assembly activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications. Ensure all workshop activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, quality standards, and project specifications. Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, documentation, and final acceptance. Ensure strict compliance with company HSE policies and applicable Oil & Gas safety standards. Conduct toolbox meetings and ensure workers follow safe working practices and PPE requirements. Monitor productivity, manpower performance, material consumption, and workshop costs. Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and efficiency. Coordinate material requirements with the Stores and Procurement departments. Maintain proper records of production, manpower, equipment utilization, material usage, and workshop progress. Prepare regular progress reports and provide updates to management. Supervise and develop workshop supervisors, foremen, technicians, welders, fabricators, fitters, and other personnel. Ensure preventive maintenance of workshop machinery and equipment is carried out as scheduled. Support project execution teams during mobilization, fabrication, installation, shutdown, and maintenance activities as required. Ensure compliance with applicable ASME, API, AWS, ISO, and client/project standards, where applicable.<br><br>Required Qualifications<br><br>Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 10 years of relevant workshop experience. Previous GCC experience is mandatory, preferably in Qatar. Strong knowledge of workshop planning, fabrication processes, manpower management, and equipment utilization. Good understanding of QA/QC and HSE requirements in industrial and Oil & Gas environments. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and project documents. Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Office and relevant workshop/project management systems. Ability to manage multiple activities and meet strict project deadlines.
