Join us.</p><br><br>Job Description<br><p>We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Highways to join our organization in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in highway engineering, a proven track record of successful project delivery, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects meet technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness.</p><br><ul><li>Design and develop comprehensive highway infrastructure projects, including roadway alignment, drainage systems, and traffic management solutions</li><li>Lead and mentor engineering teams throughout all project phases, from conceptual design through construction and commissioning</li><li>Conduct detailed technical analyses and feasibility studies to evaluate project viability and identify potential challenges</li><li>Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, international standards, and safety protocols specific to Qatar and the Middle East region</li><li>Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within financial parameters</li><li>Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and government agencies to facilitate project approvals and smooth execution</li><li>Perform quality assurance reviews and inspections to verify construction adherence to design specifications</li><li>Utilize advanced engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM), for design and project documentation</li><li>Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings for project documentation and regulatory submission</li><li>Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving standards in highway engineering</li></ul><br>Qualifications<br><ul><li><strong>Valid MME (professional engineering) registration and active license in good standing</strong></li><li><strong>Qatar experience required</strong></li><li><strong>Fluent in Arabic/English</strong></li><li>Minimum 12 years of professional experience in highway engineering and infrastructure development</li><li>Proven experience leading senior-level highway projects from design through construction completion</li><li>Strong expertise in highway design principles, pavement engineering, and traffic engineering</li><li>Proficiency with industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM platforms</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of construction management, project scheduling, and cost estimation</li><li>Demonstrated ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop effective solutions</li><li>Excellent project management skills with proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget</li><li>Strong leadership and team management capabilities with experience mentoring junior engineers</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English</li><li>Familiarity with Middle East construction standards, local regulations, and regional infrastructure requirements</li><li>Preferred experience with traffic modeling software and sustainable highway design practices</li><li>Preferred knowledge of safety management systems and environmental compliance in construction projects</li></ul><br>Additional Information<br><p><em>At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously. <strong>To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.</strong></em></p><br><p><strong>About AECOM</strong>&nbsp;</p><br><p>AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
