Ensures compliance with the applicable USAF mandatory requirements. <strong>Purpose and Scope: <br><br></strong>Structures Technician Sub-Amp acts as a subject matter expert to advising AMP Managers and other operations and engineering staff with the development of overall operation, maintenance, repair, compliance, sustainment, and recapitalization of facility-related mechanical and HVAC assets and associated FYDP+3 requirements identification. Responsible for the asset lifecycle management portfolio encompassing the building's structure, envelope, and interior finishes. This position will be in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and it is located at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Doha, Qatar.<br><br><strong>Essential Responsibilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Subject matter expertise lends itself to advising the AMP Managers, the Operations Flight, and Engineering Flight with recommendations on how best to invest in the systems under their purview. </li><li>Provide technical guidance to support the Facilities Structure & Finishes Sub-AMP functions. </li><li>Responsible for the asset lifecycle management portfolio encompassing the building's structure, envelope, and interior finishes. This includes foundations, structural framing, roofing, exterior walls, windows, doors, interior walls, flooring, ceilings, and paint. </li><li>Will advise and assist with the development of the overall inspection, maintenance, repair, sustainment, and recapitalization plan for these assets, ensuring structural integrity, weather tightness, and aesthetic quality while also supporting the identification of FYDP+3 requirements. </li><li>Works closely with the Facilities AMP and Sub-AMP, if required. </li><li>Assists with the pre-design work for new construction, renovations and improvement projects for real property facilities. </li><li>Interprets and adapts traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards. </li><li>Responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers. </li><li>Assists with the development of cost estimates and time schedules. </li><li>Prepares necessary correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets and status report and prepares final construction drawings suitable for obtaining qualified bids from Contractors. </li><li>Complies with health, safety and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment. </li><li>Acts as Alternate BUILDER Point of Contact (POC). </li><li>Manage and administer functions of the BUILDER database to ensure optimum access and usage of the database, and to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and currency of the data. </li><li>Input and provide quality assurance of all necessary database entries in conjunction with other squadron flights. </li><li>Inventory and enter RPIE into the BUILDER database. </li><li>Maintain the BUILDER facility inventory 100% in synchronization with the Air Force Accountable Property System of Record (APSR), NexGen IT. </li><li>Ensure the BUILDER contains only one facility record per Real Property Unique Identifier (RPUID). </li><li>Ensure all facilities with RPA Type equal to B, S, or LS have all required systems inventoried in BUILDER. </li><li>Identify, track, and inventory all facilities with no RPUID assigned until such time as the AFCEC assigns a unique RPUID. </li><li>Maintain, in a current status, the list of facilities awaiting RPUID assignment while waiting for the AFCEC to provide unique RPUIDs for those facilities. </li><li>Maintain the existing detailed inventory of all facilities in the BUILDER and shall update the detailed inventory as needed due to completion of work or identification of inventory errors. </li><li>Update component-section assessments (including barcodes if applicable). </li><li>Provide condition assessment capability for all facility systems. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Technicians shall have an equivalent of an Air Force minimum 5 level or equal and 5 years’ experience in their respective trades. </li><li>Required to complete AFIT WENG 200 – Scoping & Estimating, AFIT WENG 440, AFIT WMGT 231 – SMS Builder Level 2 (Assessor Rights), & AFIT WMGT 417 – Activity Management. All required courses are offered online or live broadcast and shall be completed through the first available offering after hiring date. </li><li>Prior R&O experience and NexGen experience preferred. </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent training & experience. </li><li>Experience in the use of documents relating to the development of projects, contracting, and construction is necessary. </li><li>Computer literate; can use Microsoft Office and Project, etc. </li><li>Ability to communicate, read, and write English is required. </li><li>Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team. </li><li>Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment. </li><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. <p>Carry out the signwriting works in the fabrication, painting and designing of signs as per the work instructions & directive of the Supervisor to meet clients and yard's requirements for a timely delivery if projects.</p><br><p>Perform job-related activities such as constructing and fabricating signs, designing of signs according to necessary size and letter specification as per the approved drawing, installation of signs in a variety of locations, painting of signs, selecting materials to use for the construction of signs, working in different materials ranging, paints and finishes in line with defined standard operating procedures and quality standards.</p><br><ul><li><p>Maintain housekeeping of workplace to required standards.</p></li><li><p>Ensure appropriate use of tools and machinery, preventing excessive wear and tear and breakdowns.</p></li><li><p>Prevent wastage of materials and consumables and report any malfunction of tools and machinery to immediate supervisor</p></li><li><p>Takes initiative to pursue self-development through on-job-training/education.</p></li><li><p>Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work</p></li><li><p>Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment</p></li><li><p>Perform other related duties or assignments as directed by supervisor</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Trade Apprenticeship / Secondary School</p></li><li><p>Vocational training related to signwriting Cherry picker & manlift operator</p></li></ul><br><p>Experience:</p><ul><li><p>Work experience as Signwriter, preferably shipyard or offshore project (Industrial). Minimum of 3 years relevant experience Knowledge of English Language. Knowledge and experience in Shipyard or similar facility.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge in drawing interpretation.</p></li><li><p>Practical knowledge of spray-painting specification & classification of paints.</p></li><li><p>Team oriented and listening skills, attentive and punctual.</p></li><li><p>Computer Literacy</p></li></ul>
