The incumbent will be a key member of the Process Safety team and will interface with the appropriate operations and technical teams to support in conducting the Process Safety Risk studies for Projects and existing operations, facilitating Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies including but not limited to Hazard and Operability study (HAZOP), Safety Integrity Level (SIL), Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Major Hazard Analysis /Direct Hazard Analysis (MHA/DHA), Dispersion Studies and Safety Cases Studies. The role holder will comply with all relevant QAFCO Management System procedures in respect to Health, Quality, Safety and Environment.<br><br>Key Accountabilities<br><br>Promote and comply with QAFCO’s Occupational Health & Safety, Environment, Quality, Responsible Care Management Systems & Product Stewardship, PSM requirements. Assist Head of Safety and Loss Prevention Senior Engineer in developing various documents and implementing activities related to monitoring and following-up Process Safety Management system. Develop the Company Process Safety Specifications and Standards to be used in all projects and assets operations. Partner with operational and technical resources to ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements. Follow valid standards, technical requirements and good engineering practices to ensure that operations and projects are executed in line with agreed process safety specifications. Lead company-wide network to develop and update process safety related requirements and procedures Provide, when required, specifications for the procurement of equipment and services. Conduct evaluation of bids and recommend preferred suppliers to ensure meeting optimum process safety requirements. Coordinate the activities within Process Safety group. Lead and coordinate different campaigns to promote Process Safety within the company. Partner with leaders to develop short and long-term process safety objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize action plans and mitigate risks. Develop and implement key performance indicators (most importantly, leading indicators) to track the progress of PSM on a weekly and monthly basis. Generating and reviewing Process Safety Management weekly and monthly reports. Participate in developing, implementing and facilitating Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies like HAZOP, SIL, QRA, LOPA, FMEA, MHA/DHA, safety cases and Dispersion Studies. Plans work activities, and coordinates with various operations and project teams to ensure safety activities are achieved within the set time schedules, specification and cost. Lead and/or participate in all process safety incidents investigations. Ensure that incidents root causes are identified and action plans and lessons learnt are established and communicated within the organization to avoid incident reoccurrence. Participate in the development of practical recommendations for process changes to mitigate, control, or eliminate process-related hazards and meet process related risk reduction objectives. Keep informed of technological developments and best practices in the area of responsibility in order to update knowledge, identify and recommend opportunities for increased effectiveness and/or cost reduction.<br><br>Desired Candidate Profile<br><br>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering. Certifications, such as NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety, Process Safety Management, Incident Investigations & Root Cause Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis are desirable. A minimum of 8 years proven successful experience in a similar position with extensive in Process Safety field within Fertilizer, Petrochemicals or Oil & Gas industry. Should have excellent supervisory skills. Should have knowledgeable about codes, standards and recommended practices for Process Safety Management Should have good engineering judgment; ability to recognize, assess, and mitigate hazards, Attention to detail, initiative, highly organized, good analytical skills, and practical use of engineering principles Should have good knowledge & ability to operate standard PC applications. Should have good English communication & Technical Report Writing Skills.

<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across the fertilizer complex to ensure that plant assets, materials, equipment, and construction activities comply with applicable international standards, company specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout their lifecycle. The role provides technical assurance for procurement, fabrication, welding, construction, inspection, testing, and material quality, while promoting a proactive "Quality at Source" culture to enhance asset reliability, mechanical integrity, and process safety.
The position also maintains compliance with ISO/IEC 17020 requirements by implementing and continually improving the Inspection Body Management System, supporting accreditation, and ensuring effective quality management practices across the Asset Integrity function.
</p><p>The Key Accountabilities are as follows:</p><ul><li><p>Lead and manage Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities across all QAFCO plants and facilities to ensure compliance with company specifications, international standards, and statutory requirements.</p></li><li><p>Ensure quality assurance throughout the asset lifecycle by participating in vendor qualification, reviewing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, manufacturing procedures, and witnessing shop and site inspections.</p></li><li><p>Manage the qualification of vendors in co-operation with different stake holders like Material management , Mechanical, Electrical , Instrumentation sections etc.</p></li><li><p>Oversee QA/QC activities for fabrication, construction, installation, repairs, and maintenance of static equipment and piping, ensuring compliance with approved procedures, codes, standards, and contractual requirements.</p></li><li><p>Manage welding quality assurance by verifying Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), welder qualifications, and non-destructive examination (NDE) requirements for fabrication and repair activities. Review and approve welding book submitted by contractors.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate and perform inspections with third-party inspection agencies, contractors, and vendors, including factory acceptance tests (FAT), site inspections according to ITP steps and lifting equipment certification.</p></li><li><p>Ensure effective quality control of incoming materials, equipment, and spare parts by reviewing material certificates, verifying compliance with specifications, maintaining material traceability, and reporting non-conformities.</p></li><li><p>Expertise needed to take decisions, if any deviations from the specification and Mock test requirement, etc. </p></li><li><p>Monitor the repair and integrity of pressure equipment, piping, and static equipment in accordance with applicable codes and standards, including ASME PCC-2, to restore and maintain mechanical integrity.</p></li><li><p>Manage inspection, testing, certification, and performance evaluation of pressure relief devices, and develop optimized inspection scopes using Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies.</p></li><li><p>Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including Radiation Protection licensing and other applicable Ministry requirements.</p></li><li><p>Maintain, calibrate, and control inspection instruments, tools, and equipment to ensure their accuracy, availability, and compliance with quality requirements.</p></li><li><p>Develop, maintain, and continuously improve QA/QC procedures, inspection documentation, records, and electronic management systems to support effective asset integrity management.</p></li><li><p>Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the ISO/IEC 17020 Inspection Body Management System, support accreditation activities, conduct internal audits, and ensure effective implementation of all applicable ISO/IEC 17020 requirements.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Asset Integrity teams to promote a "Quality at Source" culture, enhance process safety and mechanical integrity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Summary<br><br>The role holder is responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, overhaul and troubleshooting of Responsible for Maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting of DCS systems (Honeywell TDC-3000 (TPS) & Experion Systems), Safety Systems (Triconex, Siemens, HIMA, Honeywell), PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, HIMA, Honeywell), PDCS Systems (Siemens) and GT control systems (GE Mark VI & Vie).<br><br>Familiarized completely with the allocated area of work, the equipment involved and general idea of the process of the maintenance activities. They will carry out day to day basic maintenance jobs independently under normal supervision. Housekeeping is an important issue, as is the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment. They must ensure that all the activities are carried out in compliance with QAFCO occupational health, Quality, Safety, Energy and Environment procedures.<br><br>Key Accountabilities<br><br>Carry out the assigned day-to-day routine and non-routine maintenance activities independently under normal supervision to ensure work is completed on time and to quality standards. Gain approval for cold work permits in order to facilitate the execution of assigned tasks in compliance with safety requirements. Good experience of maintenance of Ammonia, Urea, Melamine, desalination and chemical processing plant. Know basic signal circuit design; know types of signals and transmission devices; design and install transmission systems between measurement and control element devices and control equipment; know the transmission system architecture. Know data backup and data restore policy. Develop and implement the data backup and data restore procedures and systems necessary to ensure complete information systems (IS) disaster recovery capability.
