Conduct physical inspections of materials to identify any breakages or damages, maintaining quality control for all received items. Identify defects, initiate material discrepancy reports, and actively participate in resolving discrepancies. Confirm that delivered items are accompanied by applicable delivery notes, packing lists, and other necessary documents; cross-verify these against CAPS/MSDS online systems for approvals (such as MTC, SDS, COA Certificates, etc.). Label received chemicals with hazard placards and details. Manage the receipt and handling of cylinders in designated areas, communicate with vendors regarding discrepancies, reorganize empty cylinders, and follow up on their return to suppliers. Affix correct labels to cartons and pallets, and complete required system transactions efficiently to ensure accurate identification and tracking. Ensure that all materials are properly preserved, tagged, labelled, and stored securely in designated bins or storage areas. Adhere to storage and preservation requirements as outlined in MM or as recommended by the end user or supplier. Review material request forms/issue slips from user departments to ensure all required information is complete and accurate prior to issuance. Locate requested materials physically, confirm their accuracy and integrity with the requester, and tag the materials for issuance.
