Eligibility for QCHP licensing.

Package

£300,000 £370,000 per annum, tax-free , fully liquid and reviewed annually. The medicine is broad rather than narrow, which is why the household is open to consultant-level internists, family physicians and emergency physicians alike. What is not negotiable is temperament: the ability to hold clinical authority courteously, to say no when necessary, and to keep confidences absolutely. Eight or more years of independent practice is the minimum for a reason.

Licensing sequence: DHP (QCHP), Qatar

Qatar licenses clinicians through the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) at the Ministry of Public Health, under the QCHP framework. For a residential appointment the sequence is: DataFlow primary source verification of your primary medical degree, specialist certification (CCT, CCST, Facharzt or the equivalent European fellowship), current registration, certificate of good standing and experience letters typically four to eight weeks with a complete dossier. DHP evaluation and registration: Tier-1 specialist certification generally exempts you from the Prometric assessment at consultant grade, and we confirm this before you commit. Licence issuance against the sponsoring entity associated with the household, followed by the residence permit and medical examination. Household onboarding: NDA execution, accommodation, banking and the practical steps we coordinate with the family office before your first day. Qatar is a dossier-first jurisdiction files that are complete and consistent move quickly, files with gaps stall. Our notes on DHP licensing in 2026 , the QCHP licensing guide and why Qatar rewards preparation set out what to prepare. Consultants should also read the value of a CCT or CCST in Gulf appointments .

How the package is structured

The figure quoted above £300,000 £370,000 per annum is base remuneration, and it is paid tax-free: Qatar levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so the number on the offer is the number that arrives. Accommodation, transport, medical cover and repatriation flights sit outside the base figure, and global malpractice indemnity is provided by the household in the mandates we run we ask every physician to check the territory, the limits and the run-off cover before signing, and our note on malpractice insurance in the Gulf explains what to look for. End-of-service gratuity accrues under local labour law for each completed year and is paid when the contract ends; our note on end-of-service gratuity and repatriation explains how it is calculated and what to check in the contract. If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from a cross-border adviser we point every candidate to one, and tax-free wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points. Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator ; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.

Living in Doha

Doha is compact, calm and well organised: West Bay and The Pearl for waterfront living, Lusail as the new city to the north, Msheireb s restored downtown, Education City s universities and a cultural offer led by the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum. Household appointments include accommodation provided by the family within the estate or a residence nearby so relocation is about settling in rather than searching. Winters are pleasant and outdoor; summers are hot and humid. Hamad International flies direct to London and the European hubs in around seven hours. Families have a solid choice of British and American curriculum schools the Doha compounds and schools guide covers compounds and catchments, our international school fees benchmark gives current fees and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments worth anticipating.

How the search is run

We run this search as a full-cycle search under a retained, confidential mandate. The first conversation is with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, and it is a briefing rather than a screening: what the appointment involves day to day, what the household selects for, and whether it fits the life you want. Your CV goes nowhere until you say so. If you proceed, your dossier is checked against the licensing route above, the household is briefed on an anonymised profile, and interviews run by video before an in-person meeting arranged by the family. Offer, NDA and contract are settled before any licensing fee is incurred. The time-to-hire estimator gives realistic timings for a physician appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household s side of the process.

Related mandates and resources

Doctors practice: how we appoint physicians to Royal Households and UHNW families

Private doctor for a Royal Household or UHNW Principal

Ongoing physician opportunities in Doha register

Doctor jobs in Doha: market overview

The private concierge physician retainer in Royal Households

GCC physician salary trends 2026

Questions that protect your career when a family office hires you

Live GCC mandates by specialty

Process

Desired Candidate Profile

Board-certified Physician with eight or more years post-fellowship or general practice experience.
