Receives the work orders and discusses with the Qatargas Maintenance Services Supervisor the extent of the work. Secures all appropriate materials, tools and equipment, assigns painters and Blasters to various jobs and provides necessary explanations and technical instructions. Checks progress of work on jobs under his supervision to maintain Quality Control and ensure completion according to specification, and maintains good housekeeping. Liaise with other crafts for resolving operational difficulties as they arise. Monitors quality of surface preparation, mixing of paints and carrying out all specialists painting application work. Directs removal of old paint, coating and rust with hand tools or paint remover and other cleaning of surfaces by water washing or with solvents. Directs use of grit-blasting machines to remove old, paints grease etc, and protection of critical painting as necessary. Responsible for Painting quantity joint measurement with contractor surveyor after the work completed. Ensure the contractor monthly invoices compile with the joint measurement data Co-ordinate the issue of Work Permits on daily basis and administering compliance with Permit conditions and requirements on site, ensuring at all times that personnel under his direction work in a safe competent manner. Ensures at all times that blasting and painting equipment is in good mechanical condition, arranging repair/maintenance as necessary. Requires good basic knowledge of high-tech coatings, their preparation and application together with test procedures. Consistently guide and coordinate the work of the project marine leads and coordinators assigned to the individual Compression projects. Compression projects focal point and custodian of the marine safety and quality assurance activities for all marine units engaged on the projects and manages marine assurance processes across Compression projects including vessel suitability assessments, marine assurance inspections and audits (e.g. OVID), marine warranty surveys, DP assurance. • Perform land/field surveys and geodetic calculations.
