Instructors at Qatar Technical Institute (QTI) form the backbone of the training ecosystem and play a critical role in delivering high-quality vocational, technical and defence training in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) standards. The Humanities instructor works in the General Studies department, which forms the first year of a two-year diploma.<br><br>The primary role of the Humanities Instructor is to deliver the Humanities curriculum to military students in accordance with all policies and processes at the QTI. The role involves teaching and supporting the creation, maintenance, and delivery of Humanities subjects, including Qatar History, Human Rights, and Islamic Culture, to specific standards within the General Studies department.<br><br>The ideal candidate will have the ability to plan and implement engaging lessons based on MoEHE curriculum. They will create an inclusive learning environment that supports student success while maintaining academic rigor and adherence to institutional standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a commitment to student-centered learning, and the ability to inspire interest and achievement in the different subjects within Humanities.<br><br>The role involves engaging in regular feedback meetings with Senior Instructors in support of continuous improvement of the instructor’s classes and the department as a whole. Taking ownership of their classes and leading by example, the instructor must demonstrate professionalism and flexibility. The instructor must also demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and continuous improvement initiatives within the QTI.<br><br>The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing priorities, student needs, and organisational requirements. Operate professionally and respectfully within the military training environment.<br><br>Requirements<br><br>Qualification/Trade Knowledge:<br><br>Essential<br><br> Holds qualified teacher status or a relevant education and training qualification (e.g. PGCE, B. Ed., M. Ed., MA, BA, Diploma, or equivalent) in a Humanities subject or a related field. Relevant experience teaching Humanities subjects to international students in a range of contexts. Knowledge and experience teaching Qatar History, Human Rights, Islamic Culture, or Social Studies. Demonstrable soft skills across a multi-disciplinary department. Ability to use a range of teaching and administrative technologies. Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and continuous improvement.<br><br>Desirable<br><br> Experience within a military setting. Teaching experience in the Middle East. Arabic language. In addition to the primary teaching specialism, Instructors may be required to support the delivery, development, assessment, verification, and administration of other subject areas, programmes, or training activities within the organisation as directed by the Customer, Line Manager, Head of Department, or Head of the Organisation. Such responsibilities will be allocated based on the Instructors/Lecturers qualifications, professional experience, industry background, demonstrated competence, and previous teaching or training experience. You will play a critical role in protecting our organization's assets, personnel, and operations while ensuring adherence to local and international HSE standards.<br><br>Conduct regular security patrols and surveillance of company premises, including buildings, parking areas, and restricted zones Monitor and manage access control systems, CCTV cameras, and alarm systems to ensure facility security Identify, assess, and document potential health, safety, and security hazards throughout the workplace Investigate security incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions Enforce compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and Qatar labor law requirements Respond promptly to security breaches, emergencies, and safety incidents; coordinate with emergency services when necessary Conduct safety inspections and audits to verify adherence to established protocols Maintain accurate and organized records of security incidents, inspections, and maintenance activities Provide security briefings and HSE training to employees on relevant policies and procedures Collaborate with management and other departments to develop and improve safety and security initiatives Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) across the organization Monitor visitor access and maintain visitor logs in compliance with security procedures<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Proven experience as a Security Officer, HSE Officer, or similar role in a corporate or industrial environment Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices Familiarity with Qatar labor laws and local HSE compliance requirements Proficiency in security systems, access control, and CCTV monitoring Excellent analytical and risk assessment skills Strong written and verbal communication abilities Exceptional organizational and record-keeping skills Ability to remain calm and make decisive decisions in emergency situations Physical fitness and ability to perform regular patrols and inspections Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis Knowledge of emergency response procedures and protocols Preferred: First aid/CPR certification or equivalent Preferred: Previous experience with security clearance processes Preferred: Leadership or supervisory experience in security or safety roles Preferred: Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
