EPC Legal Counsel Role Purpose The Legal Counsel will support the Legal team on the full lifecycle of large-scale contracts underpinning the company's EPC construction projects ( from drafting through negotiation, execution, and issue resolution ) working closely with commercial, project management, and procurement teams. The core requirement is strong contract negotiation ability; prior EPC or construction-specific exposure is an advantage but not required. Experience & Background Years of practice: At least 5-8 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience, ideally split between law firm practice and in-house counsel roles. Job Context & Major Challenge(s) The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for handling all legal related issues and advice pertaining to the Company, Project Owners and affiliates under relevant service agreements, often involving complex matters across Qatar and global jurisdictions. Ensure practices are aligned with accepted industry standards and best practices and are also consistent with statutory, regulatory and corporate guidelines. Has a high degree of freedom in the execution of job functions, events and activities within legal environment. Key Job Accountabilities Provide legal advice and guide stakeholders, regulators and contractors on legal related issues adhering to department guidelines and law in a timely manner. Review and draft Company policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure consistency with applicable law. Perform duties such as interpreting laws and follow up legal suits and arbitration to which the Company is a party to and supervise the activities undertaken by outside counsel. Draft letters and documents addressed to Governmental authorities on legal related issues and maintain filing record of government documentation. Draft, review and negotiate all contractual arrangements including those with contractors, customers, consultants, suppliers, buyers, lenders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Company policies and department objectives. Develop standard agreements and reviews relevant agreements to ensure legal risks are appropriately addressed. Represent the Legal department on internal or external working groups and committees and implement legal strategies in support of the legal Department’ objectives. Perform other duties at the request of the Associate General Counsel and/or General Counsel and provides Legal support and advice to the Associate General Counsel and/or General Counsel & Company Secretary to ensure legal decisions are carried out in a timely manner supporting Company objectives. Qualifications Bachelor of Laws “LLB” or Juris Doctor “JD” degree from a recognised law School or, Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and otherwise qualified as a Lawyer in a relevant jurisdiction. Knowledge and/or Experience 10 years’ experience related to the relevant fields of law. Front line legal advisory experience in multi-national, multicultural environment.

It involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, procurement documents, financing agreements, and real estate transactions while managing legal risks. The position supports corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, and financing activities through legal due diligence and documentation. The role oversees corporate secretarial matters, maintains global entity registrations and governance documentation, and advises on regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions. The role also develops compliance policies, delivers legal awareness training, manages external legal counsel, and provides guidance on employment law, data protection, and intellectual property matters. The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with 7–9 years of post-qualification experience, including in-house legal experience, and strong expertise in corporate and commercial law, contract management, compliance, and cross-border legal matters.
