Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Physician as personal medical lead to a Royal Household in Qatar. The post carries full clinical sovereignty within a private residential environment, with responsibility for coordinating specialist care as required. It is a permanent, highly confidential engagement.

The Mandate

Personal medical lead to the household, with full clinical sovereignty. Practice within a private residential environment. Coordination of external specialist care as clinically indicated. Strict NDA compliance throughout.

Candidate Requirements

Board-certified Physician with eight or more years post-fellowship or general practice experience. Trained and licensed in a Tier-1 UK or European system UK, Ireland, or an accepted European jurisdiction. Fluent English. Eligibility for QCHP licensing.

Package

£300,000 £370,000 per annum, tax-free , fully liquid and reviewed annually. Private residence accommodation, comprehensive family medical cover, annual flights home.

Advisory guidance and documentation support throughout QCHP licensing see Gulf Healthcare Licensing Support .

What this appointment asks of you

As personal physician and medical lead, you become the household s single point of clinical truth: first assessment for every presentation, longitudinal management of chronic conditions, preventative screening architecture for the family, and the judgement to know precisely when a case needs a named specialist in Doha, London or elsewhere and how to bring that specialist in without disturbing the family s privacy. The medicine is broad rather than narrow, which is why the household is open to consultant-level internists, family physicians and emergency physicians alike. What is not negotiable is temperament: the ability to hold clinical authority courteously, to say no when necessary, and to keep confidences absolutely. Eight or more years of independent practice is the minimum for a reason.

Licensing sequence: DHP (QCHP), Qatar

Qatar licenses clinicians through the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) at the Ministry of Public Health, under the QCHP framework. For a residential appointment the sequence is: DataFlow primary source verification of your primary medical degree, specialist certification (CCT, CCST, Facharzt or the equivalent European fellowship), current registration, certificate of good standing and experience letters typically four to eight weeks with a complete dossier. DHP evaluation and registration: Tier-1 specialist certification generally exempts you from the Prometric assessment at consultant grade, and we confirm this before you commit. Licence issuance against the sponsoring entity associated with the household, followed by the residence permit and medical examination. Household onboarding: NDA execution, accommodation, banking and the practical steps we coordinate with the family office before your first day. Qatar is a dossier-first jurisdiction files that are complete and consistent move quickly, files with gaps stall. Our notes on DHP licensing in 2026 , the QCHP licensing guide and why Qatar rewards preparation set out what to prepare. Consultants should also read the value of a CCT or CCST in Gulf appointments .

How the package is structured

The figure quoted above £300,000 £370,000 per annum is base remuneration, and it is paid tax-free: Qatar levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so the number on the offer is the number that arrives. Accommodation, transport, medical cover and repatriation flights sit outside the base figure, and global malpractice indemnity is provided by the household in the mandates we run we ask every physician to check the territory, the limits and the run-off cover before signing, and our note on malpractice insurance in the Gulf explains what to look for. End-of-service gratuity accrues under local labour law for each completed year and is paid when the contract ends; our note on end-of-service gratuity and repatriation explains how it is calculated and what to check in the contract.
