Job Summary<br>UCC Holding is seeking an experienced Senior Geologist Manager to lead geological evaluation, exploration, appraisal, and field development activities within its Upstream Oil & Gas business. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in subsurface studies, basin evaluation, reservoir characterization, prospect generation, and resource assessment to support strategic exploration and production objectives.<br>Key Responsibilities<br>Lead regional and field-scale geological studies for exploration, appraisal, and development projects. Conduct structural, stratigraphic, sedimentological, and petroleum systems analysis. Identify and mature exploration prospects and drilling opportunities through integrated subsurface interpretation. Integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and reservoir engineering data for reservoir characterization and field development planning. Perform resource and reserve assessments, volumetric calculations, and geological risk evaluations. Provide technical assurance and recommendations for exploration acreage, farm-ins, acquisitions, and development projects. Support well planning, drilling operations, and post-well evaluations. Manage multidisciplinary subsurface teams and mentor geoscientists. Ensure compliance with industry standards, HSE requirements, and best geological practices<br>Technical Requirements<br>Extensive experience in basin analysis, structural geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology, and petroleum geology. Strong expertise in prospect generation, play fairway analysis, reservoir characterization, and geological modeling. Hands-on experience with Petrel, Kingdom, Geo Graphix, Decision Space, Arc GIS, or equivalent geological software. Strong understanding of clastic and carbonate reservoirs, fractured reservoirs, and unconventional resource plays. Experience integrating seismic interpretation, well log analysis, core data, and production performance data. Proven capability in reserves and resources estimation under international reporting standards.<br>Qualifications & Experience<br>Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related discipline. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum 15+ years of experience in the Upstream Oil & Gas industry. Experience with major IOC, NOC, or leading E&P companies. Proven leadership experience managing geological teams and high-value exploration and development portfolios.
Primary Purpose Of The Job<br><br>Monitor, control, and supervise the geological activities to update geological models for Idd El-Shargi field. Undertake geological studies of the reservoirs to optimize field development plans. Analyze and evaluate subsurface data and establish most suitable geological models for utilization in reservoir simulation.<br><br>Interpret and review subsurface data; generate optimized drillable well locations and well proposals. Skills to advise geological well operations.<br><br>Required Experience And Skills<br><br>Experience & Skills<br><br>Minimum 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with at least 10 years of experience performing Reservoir Modelling Studies.<br><br>Must have strong experience in carbonate reservoirs and worked on mature fields where the integration of production data has been used to constrain their maps, interpretation, and uncertainty management.<br><br>Strong Hands-on experience in building reservoir static model and sound knowledge of geostatistic.<br><br>Good knowledge/ experience in well log analysis, seismic interpretation, and reservoir simulation.<br><br>Good knowledge of horizontal well technology and geo-steering.<br><br>Must have strong teamwork skills. Experience working in a multi-cultural and integrated asset team environment.<br><br>Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field staff, and management.<br><br>Advanced degree will be a plus.<br><br>Desirable<br><br>Plan the acquisition and interpret geological data for/from appraisal, development, and infill wells. Provide input into the integrated reservoir/ field development studies.<br><br>Supervise and construct/update 3D reservoir static models as input for dynamic simulation and field development planning (FDP). Develop geological conceptual framework to support the structural and property modelling work.<br><br>Perform regular update of hydrocarbon In-place volumes and uncertainty range, feeding into annual Resources/Reserves Booking and ARR document update.<br><br>Develop and integrate geological input into the short-term (re-drill/replacement well projects), medium-term (reservoir voidage management) and the long-term (field development and value optimization) activities.<br><br>Participate and contribute geological input in the integrated/multidisciplinary studies.<br><br>Accountable party for development and implementation of geological/reservoir characterization studies, follow-up the core/thin-section sedimentological evaluation, diagenesis studies (CO isotopes, fluid inclusion, cathodoluminescence etc.). Working with contractor companies to develop and execute a sound program.<br><br>QA/QC Geological data and maintain Geological databases.<br><br>Provide on-the-job coaching and development of less experienced Qatari staff.<br><br>Software Knowledgel Experience<br><br>Geoframe and Openwork. @Risk/Crystal Ball Petrel - RMS <br><br>Educational Qualifications<br><br>Minimum of a BSc in Geology or Geophysics with extensive petroleum geology training.
<p>Collaborating with multi-disciplinary project teams and peers to provide expert geophysical support for exploration activities and studies across QatarEnergy's International non-operated ventures (NOJV) Activities will include new venture opportunity screening, Asset prospect & lead evaluation, risking and volumetric assessments leading to portfolio ranking and high-grading for drill-readiness, Exploration and Appraisal drilling preparation & monitoring, perform seismic studies with oversight on all geophysical operations (acquisition, processing, well seismic) and integrated geoscience studies to QAQC Operator's work supporting Venture decisions and seeking QatarEnergy Management approval Serve as a technical advisor to Management on complex geophysical and subsurface problems and provide appropriate cost effective and timely solutions Additional key responsibilities include NOJV Asset Management such as support of submission of Annual Business Plans, Scorecards, upkeep of Venture Risk registers, timely update of Senior Management on TCM and OCM Asset recommendations and influencing the Operators' plans to align with QatarEnergy's preferred position, specifically on synergies and cost savings where applicable Coordination and representation of the company in all technical meetings, ownership of the minutes documenting QatarEnergy's position, fostering respectful communication and knowledge exchange and providing support for continuous improvement to the assets/regions assigned</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Explorer with min 15 years' experience within International Exploration and New Ventures in International Oil & Gas Companies (IOCs) Proven track record of seismic interpretation, Quantitative Interpretation methods (including AVO analysis, Rock Physics and Seismic Inversion) required for prospect maturation, geologic risking and resource volume estimation for exploration and appraisal projects Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, projects and ventures A keen explorer who enjoys working with a close team of professionals to mature exploration projects and provide clear recommendations to the company and JV An ability to energize the team and to mentor younger staff as well as integration with other disciplines Demonstrable experience in oil and gas exploration projects in a wide range of sedimentary basins and tectonic settings globally, pre and post salt basins, basin and play led exploration from inception to prospect generation and drill-ready well locations Must be able to work in a non-operated capacity demonstrating communication skills fundamental to preserving credibility and influencing QatarEnergy's operating JV partners in support of QatarEnergy's Strategic Goals Experience in Non-Operated Joint ventures with multiple IOCs is required Advanced or Expert Software Proficiency: Petrel Suite including QI modules, GeoX, Hampson-Russel necessary. Participate in reserves evaluation, field development planning, and asset evaluations. Provide technical recommendations to senior management.<br>Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or Earth Sciences. Master's degree preferred. Minimum 15 years of upstream oil & gas experience. Proven experience in exploration and development projects.
