Construction Supervisor (Mechanical & Piping) - QATAR<br><br>Job Purpose<br><br>The purpose of the Construction Supervisor (Mechanical & Piping) is to supervise and oversee all construction activities concerning Mechanical and Piping in accordance with the established CAT III, IV, V and VI Projects processes, specification, and IFC Drawings. The Construction Supervisor - Mechanical & Piping is responsible in supervising the execution of all CAT III, IV, V and VI Projects mechanical and piping construction activities safely, with the required quality, and per schedule. The role directly reports to the Head of Construction and works closely with the assigned Construction Lead. The role works in the Pool Matrix of the Construction Division. The role is applicable to Brownfield and Greenfield CAT III, IV, V and VI Projects, and in normal plant operating conditions as well as shutdowns. The role provides representation in monitoring and coordinating the site and safety activities of Contractor and its Sub-contractors. The role reports on the construction activities, progress, and areas of concern and mitigating actions. The role prepares for and participates in CAT III, IV, V and VI Project(s) Weekly Construction Meetings. The role reviews and approves Construction Method Statements provided by the Contractor and ensures that its requirements are fully implemented at site by the Contractor / Sub-contractor Main Duties / Accountabilities Familiar with the health, safety and environment requirements and ensure that they are adhered to during construction activities. Ensure safety compliance at site and participated in Safety IIF Program. Engage Contractors, Sub-contractors, and applicable Third Parties with a professional approach and maintain a good working level relationship. Fully conversant with Project's discipline specific, facility related technical specification requirements. Interface and coordinate with the Project Engineering and QA/QC Teams. Coordinate Contractor’s Construction activities, and interface coordination with the activities of Third Parties. Ensure that construction activities are carried out in accordance with rules, regulations, Procedures and Permit to Work (PTW). Ensure that Construction activities are carried out in accordance with RLC rules regulations, Procedures and the Consolidated Permit to Work System in areas under RLC jurisdiction. Continuously monitor Construction activities in progress at site and at critical activities locations against the applicable Project Technical Specifications. Review activities and inspection results (reports / tests) to ensure compliance with Project requirements before proceeding with succeeding Construction activities. Monitor and ensure the correction of Non-Conformance Report items and other issues supporting QA/QC compliance. Conduct Construction surveillance activities per PMD requirements and participate in Construction Walkthroughs. Report construction progress and concerns and coordinate directly with the assigned Construction Focal Point regarding any significant issues identified. Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries Works in accordance with Policies & Procedures and directives from the Head of Construction. Discusses with the Head of Construction / Construction Focal Point, and the Contractor regarding site issues / problems, and work progress encountered at site. Operates in a comprehensive technical and supervisory role to support all Construction related activities for assigned Projects. Communications and Working Relationships Close working relationship with the Construction Focal Point, other Construction Supervisors, QA/QC Inspectors, and Discipline Engineers for execution of assigned Projects construction activities. Frequent contacts with Operations regarding Permit to Work (PTW), and material passes, supplier representatives, Contractors, and Sub-contractors during execution of Projects construction activities. Regular meetings with the Construction Focal Point to discuss construction activities, progress and work priorities. Problem Solving / Complexity Execute the Construction scope of Projects according to their Construction Execution Plans. Works within well-established Policies, Procedures and Standards. Works under pressure in fast-track and complex Projects, including shutdowns, and able to provide professional, concise response to construction related issues and concerns. Undertakes investigations and problem solving of construction issues and concerns. Must have the ability to work with the Contractor to make decisions on Projects construction issues and concerns. Provides expertise in a range of the various Construction scopes for all Projects, and other Construction activities. Good team player and strong work commitment, dedication, and contribution. Decision Making Authority and Responsibility Plan and priorities assigned Construction work within the agreed work plans for assigned Projects. Minimum Qualification, Knowledge, Skills and Experience Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent such as Diploma. Thorough knowledge of ASME, API, ASNT, NACE, etc. Codes / Standards. Minimum of six (06) years broad experience in all phases of Construction, field execution and mechanical completion activities in Mechanical and Piping discipline for EPC type Oil and Gas Projects. Experience working in Brownfield and Greenfield Projects with Contractors and Sub-contractors, in particular those involved in the Construction of Onshore and Offshore (when required), Plant Shutdowns, Oil & Gas, Chemical and/or Petrochemical Plant Facilities. In addition to experience in installation and testing of piping systems, valves, static and rotating equipment. Experience in Hot Taping and Cold Tapping activities. Experience in HVAC Systems installation including Ductworks and associated piping (Optional). Good leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member under project schedule pressures. Self-motivated and proactive in communication, taking action, and efficiently driving construction activities. Fluent in both spoken and written English. The role will support effective multidisciplinary coordination and ensure accurate digital information is delivered throughout the project lifecycle and at handover.<br> <br>Key Responsibilities<br> Lead and manage the BIM function within the PMCM team for airport projects. Review, manage, and monitor the Contractor’s BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and BIM deliverables. Ensure BIM processes and deliverables comply with project requirements, standards, and information management procedures. Oversee multidisciplinary BIM coordination and ensure effective integration of architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and specialist airport systems. Review federated models and monitor clash detection, coordination, and interface issues. Lead BIM coordination meetings and ensure timely resolution of clashes and technical interfaces. Monitor model development, LOD compliance, model quality, and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle. Support the Client in digital asset management and integration of BIM information with FM/asset management systems. Support the implementation of digital workflows and continuous improvement of BIM coordination processes. <br>Qualifications<br> Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, MEP Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. 8–12 years of BIM experience, with relevant experience in large-scale construction, infrastructure, or airport projects. Proven experience as a BIM Manager / BIM Lead on major multidisciplinary projects. Strong knowledge of BIM standards, BEP, LOD, model coordination, clash detection, and information management. Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, or equivalent BIM platforms. Experience with multidisciplinary coordination and complex project interfaces. Experience in as-built BIM, asset information, digital handover, and FM integration is preferred.
