<p>The Engineer (QA/QC) is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance and quality control systems across all carpentry, joinery, and fit-out manufacturing activities. The role ensures that all products, materials, and workmanship comply with approved drawings, specifications, client requirements, applicable standards, and company quality procedures. Key Responsibilities 1. Quality Assurance (QA) Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO 9001:2015 or company standards. Prepare and update Quality Plans, Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for joinery and fit-out works. Ensure QA procedures cover all stages of manufacturing, including material procurement, fabrication, finishing, packing, and delivery. Coordinate internal audits and assist during external audits by clients, consultants, or certification bodies. Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs, and client requirements to identify quality requirements and risks. Establish quality objectives and monitor performance through KPIs and quality reports. Promote a quality-driven culture across production and project teams. 2. . Quality Control (QC) Responsibilities Conduct incoming material inspections for timber, boards, veneers, laminates, hardware, finishes, adhesives, and accessories. Verify compliance of materials with approved submittals, samples, and technical data sheets. Perform in-process inspections during cutting, machining, assembly, veneering, laminating, finishing, polishing, and pre-installation mock-ups. Inspect final products to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, samples, tolerances, and finish quality. Monitor workmanship quality for factory-made and site-installed joinery and fit-out items. Ensure proper calibration and use of measuring and inspection tools. Identify non-conformities and issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) where required. Follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify their effectiveness 3. Project & Site Coordination Liaise with Project Managers, Production Managers, Factory Supervisors, and Site Engineers on quality matters. Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, and third-party inspectors. Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site inspections prior to delivery or installation. Ensure quality compliance during site installation, rectification works, and snag clearance. Assist in preparation of handover documents , warranties, and quality dossiers when required 4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, approvals, NCRs, and corrective actions. Prepare Inspection Requests (IRs) and ensure timely approvals. Compile quality reports, dashboards, and monthly summaries for management review. Control quality-related documents and ensure only approved revisions are in use. Maintain records for traceability of materials and workmanship. 5. Compliance & Standards Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, BS, EN, local authority requirements). Ensure products meet fire rating, environmental, sustainability, and safety requirements where applicable. Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements related to materials and finishes (e.g., VOC, fire-retardant treatments). ? 6. Continuous Improvement Analyze recurring defects and quality issues to identify root causes. Propose improvements to manufacturing processes, materials, and inspection methods. Support training of production and site teams on quality requirements, workmanship standards, and best practices. <p><span><span><strong>Your day to day</strong></span></span></p><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Ensure that the hotel’s standards of cleanliness, hygiene, security and presentation are in maintained all assigned rooms.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Perform cleaning duties in guest apartments in accordance with the status or the guest’s stay.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Inspect and clean all facilities, furniture and fixtures, and report any damage to the Housekeeping Supervisor, Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping coordinator, for action and follow up.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Attend to guests’ requests and queries courteously and promptly in the course of performing duties.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Complete all information on the Allocation Sheet for all assigned rooms, marking status, linen replaced and special requests.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Complete the Allocation sheet with the time commenced servicing the room, any running that is required, times that DND signs were placed on the door and record any maintenance issues.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Report to the Housekeeping Supervisor any unusual incidents, complaints, unauthorized persons in rooms, missing or damaged hotel property, and lost and found items.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Clean, tidy and vacuum the housekeeping pantries, ensure pantry doors are kept locked at all times and lights out when not in use.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Stack all stocks neatly in the pantry.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Sign out, sign in, and restock correctly the cleaning bucket. Maintain in good working order all equipment allocated for cleaning on a daily basis.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Vacuum guest floor corridors as assigned and keep then clean throughout the day including dusting, spot marking and polishing.</span></span><br><span><span>•</span></span><span><span>Maintain the vacuum cleaners in good working condition with each vacuum cleaner to be returned daily fully cleaned and in working order. Monitor and update guest room status accurately in the Opera PMS. Follow up on room readiness, vacant/occupied rooms, priority rooms, VIP rooms, and out-of-order rooms. Receive, record, coordinate, and follow up on guest requests related to housekeeping. Maintain accurate daily housekeeping reports, records, and checklists. Communicate room discrepancies between Housekeeping and Front Office and ensure timely resolution. Coordinate with Housekeeping Supervisors regarding room assignments, cleaning progress, and special requests. Record and follow up on maintenance issues in coordination with the Engineering Department. Maintain proper records of lost and found items and housekeeping-related guest requests. Handle telephone calls, messages, and internal communications professionally and efficiently. Assist the Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Housekeeping Manager with daily administrative and operational tasks. Prepare reports and provide accurate information to the Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Housekeeping Manager. Ensure all guest requests and departmental communications are followed up promptly. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when handling guest and hotel information. Follow hotel policies, procedures, SOPs, hygiene standards, and 5-star service standards. <br><br><br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Minimum 2 years of experience in a Housekeeping Desk, Housekeeping Coordinator, or similar hotel operations position, preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel. Good verbal and written English communication skills. Good computer knowledge, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Working knowledge of Opera PMS is required. Good understanding of hotel housekeeping operations and room status procedures. Experience coordinating with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and other hotel departments. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate daily reports. Good telephone etiquette and professional communication skills. Ability to handle guest requests efficiently and follow up until completion. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
