Duties include: Conducting on the job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintaining a record of progress for each staff member. Providing input for probation and formal performance appraisal discussions in line with company guideline. Ensuring new staff attends Corporate Orientation within first month of hire. Coaching, counseling and disciplining staff in breach of hotel policies and departmental procedures, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance. Preparing induction programs for new employees and allocating sufficient time for their implementation. Work with superior in the preparation and management of the department s budget and is aware of financial targets. Work with Superior and Human Resource Manager to ensure the departmental performance of staff is productive. Recycle where-ever possible and enforce cost saving measures to staff. <section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in managing all cost and commercial aspects of the project, ensuring effective financial control, contract compliance, and value management throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves reviewing contractor payments, assessing variations and claims, and maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting. The Quantity Surveyor plays a key role in evaluating cost impacts, ensuring proper valuation of works, and supporting change management and contractual processes. Prepare associate roster and time sheets and organize shifts to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times. Assisting Housekeeping Associate - Floor in preparing rush rooms to be inspected by Supervisors. Check each room after room attendants have finished. Supervise associates by inspecting clean rooms. Conduct quality checks to ensure tasks were completed correctly. Assisting in the inspection of vacant rooms to ensure LQA and Brand standards are met consistently. Ensure all Housekeeping members are following procedure for lost and found. Maintain accurate records of linen and uniforms sent to and returned from laundry. To ensure that adequate linen, material, guest supplies are held on the floors. To ensure that all housekeeping cleaning equipment is maintained and in good working order. To follow up on any maintenance that is outstanding. Ensure proper maintenance of all housekeeping equipment & tools. To ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of all housekeeping areas under her/his direct control. To ensure that flowers ordered are made and delivered to correct rooms. Assist Supervisors by handling daily checklists and ensuring that the accuracy of checklists is maintained. Interact in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, associates, and community members. Train, direct, coordinate, influence and persuade associates in order to maintain and follow FORBES / LQA and Brand standards of hotel. Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area. To check daily that all public areas, including restaurants and offices have been cleaned to standards laid down by the hotel, and to keep the report back up to date. To pass on departmental information to respective stakeholders. Responsible for assisting Supervisors with room assignments and acting as order taker whenever required. To undertake other such supervisory duties, which the Housekeeping Manager may allocate from time to time. Supervise periodical spring cleaning in rooms. To assist in the training of all housekeeping inventories as required. To liaise with Reception/Duty Manager regarding room status. To inform management of any matter relating to the security of Hotel, Associates and Guests property. To check staffing levels each day in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager, making sure occupancy is checked with reception. To ensure smooth hand over to next shift. To ensure that potential and existing health and safety hazards are reported promptly to the appropriate departments e.g. Maintenance, Management and Manager. Organize Safety meetings and training. Relieving the tasks of the Housekeeping Supervisors when they are not available. To receive calls from other departments, and management with regards to departmental queries. This is a key role in ensuring that The Authority remains a risk aware and resilient organization.</p><br>Your role<ul><li><span>Play the lead role in ensuring the Ashghal Vision and Values becomes part of the culture of the Drainage Networks Operations and Maintenance Department.</span></li><li><span>Provide an ongoing review of objectives, Risks, KPIs and take actions for development and improvement.</span></li><li><span>Ensure that the Department's plans and performance are within the approved budget and timescales by reviewing progress reports on the Department's performance as and when needed.</span></li><li><span>Ensure that highest standards of professional conduct, ethics and integrity are maintained during the execution of the responsibilities.</span></li><li><span>Advise and support the technical office manager by providing expert technical, strategic and operational advice on all aspects of Asset management (Drainage).</span></li><li><span>Advise on improvements on risk management, operational output and performance to achieve organization strategic goals related to drainage assets.</span></li><li><span>Represent technical office manager in Assets meeting related to (Drainage) issues with technical experts with internal and external stakeholders.</span></li><li><span>Support in building complete KPis for Operations and assets management (Drainage).</span></li><li><span>Review and advice technical office manager for issues related to Assets Affairs and handover</span></li><li><span>process and support decision making process within technical office.</span></li></ul>About you<p><b>Mandatory requirements</b></p><br><ul><li>University degree from a recognised university in an appropriate field such as Engineering or Business or equivalent.</li><li>Chartered status or Professional License from internationally recognized professional institutions or organizations.</li><li>Minimum of 20 years postgraduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programmes.
