The HVAC Technician, under general direction, performs work of average to considerable difficulty in the journey-level performance of facilities maintenance to include the primary field of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) and performs other tasks as assigned. Inspects, installs, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs and operations refrigeration, all types of air conditioning, evaporative cooking and ventilation equipment plants and systems, including portable units and ice makers. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).<br><br>Principal Accountabilities<br><br>Performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance in accordance with Job Plans. Installs, modifies, repairs, constructs, fabricates, troubleshoots and maintains refrigeration and air conditioning (unit sizes up to 35 ton), ventilation and related control systems and equipment according to applicable Technical Publications and directives. Installs, adjusts and calibrates thermostats, electronic, pressure and pneumatic controls on HVAC-R systems to maintain a comfortable temperature for employees and proper equipment operation. May be required to respond to 24-hour emergency calls for assigned work area to perform emergency equipment repairs during off duty hours using a vehicle, telephone, hand, power and specialty tools and necessary parts/materials. Identifies and corrects equipment problems by maintaining HVAC-R equipment in a safe condition, prevent degradation of property and systems and prevent failures that would cause reduction in service. Diagnoses and isolates unusual malfunction to individual system components. Uses special pressure, temperature and analysis test equipment to determine efficiency and effectiveness of refrigeration cooling. Adjusts, calibrates and aligns components for optimum operating efficiency within design limitations. Inspects completed or in progress work for compliance with standard operating procedures, safety standards and technical publications. Provides technical expertise to facilities personnel to assist them in understanding specific job requirements. Conforms to Amentum safety, hazardous material and quality standards. Follows safety standards in working with multiple services, tools and equipment. Operates Mechanical Handling Equipment when trained to do so. Trains co-workers to perform preventive maintenance and repair work on mechanical portion of equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Works in maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods. <br><br>Minimum Requirements<br><br>Must have organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at a beginner level. Must be able to read and understand technical data, plans/blueprints and publications pertaining to USAF refrigeration air-conditioning systems. Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license. May be required to operate material handling equipment. High School diploma or equivalent required. Five years practical experience of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems required. Education or technical training in a field related to facilities maintenance through a recognized trade union, technical school or equivalent, accredited college or university may substitute for up to two years of the required experience. May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed. Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs. and performing extensive work handling/lifting equipment. Primary Functions To co-ordinate and supervise the activities of the foremen and his crew on the project. To ensure Proper tools and equipment’s are available and they are utilized efficiently, productively and safely. To utilize the overall project / area plan(s), milestone dates, yard layouts and construction drawings to understand the overall view of the project and or his area of responsibility. Have an overall view and understanding of the project completion including but not limited to construction methodology, fab sequence and milestone dates. Forecast resources required for the planned work ahead (Manpower, Equipment's etc.) To be able to conduct meeting with those reporting to him in an organized manner. To set targets of production for each of those directly reporting to him, targets for Foremen. To be able to communicate supports services in the yard, QC & NDT. Provide written instruction where necessary to those directly reporting to him. Drive the team to achieve progress, productivity, safety and quality. Know and understand the estimated man-hours on the work packs, maintain man-hours booking within estimate and provide weekly progress to production engineers. Take actions where standards and targets are not met. Where necessary refer quality / progress/ productivity issue to his superintendent and provide recommendation for improvement Address any issue of poor quality/ productivity and act where appropriate. Report area of poor performance and provide recommendation for improvement. Provide accurate feedback to Superintendent. Ensure CIR (Computer Input Request) submitted and RFI (Request for Inspection) are raised on timely manner. Conduct TBT with crew, conduct safety walkthrough and address any issue of safety, check HIT process. Review TRA with his foremen when require and ensure it is discussed with his crew. Maintain good housekeeping on his work area. Promote BBSM process and be responsible for his team’s safety. Lead by example and make sure company policies and procedures are followed. Ensure proper plan of storage of welding consumable to eliminate any chance of welding consumable mix up and wrong selection. Interface with F&M department to ensure timely calibration of welding machines. Interface with Welding engineers to qualify WPS, welders for specific project. The Maintenance Engineer leverages deep understanding of maintenance strategies in-order to contribute to day-to-day operational maintenance expertise and leadership and supports the Head of Maintenance in monitoring and implementing the strategies for managing the shipyards assets throughout their lifecycle. All works is executed to a high quality & auditable standard that is consistent with the companies integrated management systems and policies. As an officer, a high level of trade skill and experience is demanded and is expected to be demonstrably applied to technical problems and monitoring of trades employees.<br>Key Accountabilities:1) Develop a deep understanding of the yard specific maintenance strategy and supports the Head of Maintenance in breaking down the strategy into short to medium time horizon work plans and tactics. Essential Responsibilities:<br><br>The designee shall provide logistics support to various sites.
