???? Welcome to Your Next Adventure!

Snoonu is looking for a Tax Specialist to own direct and indirect tax compliance across the Snoonu Group's growing international footprint. The ideal candidate will manage VAT, withholding tax (WHT), corporate income tax (CIT), and GCC social security obligations across our markets, keep pace with e-invoicing mandates and Pillar 2 requirements, and ensure every entity stays current on its tax filings, portal submissions, and assessments. As Snoonu expands into new markets, you will assess and set up the tax compliance framework from day one — registrations, filing calendars, and controls — so the business scales without tax risk. This role suits a technically strong tax professional with hands-on GCC and broader international tax experience who is equally comfortable in the detail of a VAT return and in advising the business on a new market entry.

???? What You’ll Get Your Hands On

Manage Indirect Tax Compliance: Own end-to-end VAT compliance across all Group entities — return preparation, reconciliation, filing, and payment — and monitor GCC VAT law changes for their impact on the business. Manage Direct Tax Compliance: Own corporate income tax (CIT) compliance, including computations, provisions, return preparation, and filing across all applicable jurisdictions. Administer Withholding Tax: Determine WHT applicability on cross-border and local payments, ensure correct withholding, remittance, and certificate issuance, and maintain supporting documentation. Oversee GCC Social Security Compliance: Ensure accurate registration, contribution calculation, and filing for GCC social security and pension schemes (e.g., GOSI, GPSSA, PASI) across relevant entities. Lead E-Invoicing Compliance: Implement and maintain compliance with e-invoicing mandates across GCC markets, working with Tech and Finance Systems to ensure invoicing platforms meet evolving regulatory requirements. Assess Pillar 2 Impact: Monitor Pillar 2 / Global Minimum Tax developments across the Group's jurisdictions, assess exposure, and support the design and implementation of related reporting and compliance processes. Manage Tax Portals & Filings: Maintain and operate Group tax authority portal accounts, ensuring all registrations, filings, and correspondence are completed accurately and on time. Handle Tax Assessments & Audits: Act as the primary point of contact for tax authority queries, audits, and assessments, preparing responses and supporting documentation, and managing disputes through to resolution. Support New Market Entry: Assess tax registration, filing, and compliance requirements when Snoonu enters a new market, and stand up the compliance calendar, controls, and documentation needed from launch. Own Tax Accounting & Provisioning: Prepare and review current and deferred tax provisions and disclosures for management and statutory reporting in coordination with the Financial Reporting team. Support Transfer Pricing Compliance: Maintain transfer pricing documentation (local files, master file) and ensure intercompany arrangements are consistent with Group transfer pricing policy. Manage External Tax Advisors: Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors across jurisdictions to ensure consistent, well-supported tax positions and cost-effective advisory support. Advise the Business on Tax Risk: Partner with Commercial, Product, and Legal teams to assess the tax implications of new products, contracts, and business models, and advise on structuring to manage tax risk. Drive Tax Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate and standardize recurring tax compliance processes across entities, reducing manual effort and audit risk.

????♂️ The Magic You Bring

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field; a professional tax or accounting qualification (CTA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is strongly preferred. Experience: 4–6 years of progressive tax experience, including direct and indirect tax compliance, ideally gained in-house or at a Big 4 firm with GCC exposure. GCC Tax Expertise: Strong working knowledge of VAT, WHT, CIT, and social security regulations across GCC markets (Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, KSA and other relevant jurisdictions). International & Emerging Tax Topics: Familiarity with e-invoicing mandates, Pillar 2 / Global Minimum Tax rules, and cross-border tax considerations for a multi-country group. Tax Authority & Portal Experience: Hands-on experience managing tax authority portals, filings, and correspondence, and handling tax assessments or audits. Tax Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of current and deferred tax accounting and provisioning under IFRS. New Market Entry Exposure: Experience assessing and setting up tax compliance for new jurisdictions is a strong advantage. Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail across filings, calculations, and documentation. Stakeholder Management: Confident engaging with tax authorities, external advisors, and internal stakeholders across Finance, Legal, and the business. Adaptability: Comfortable managing a growing, multi-jurisdictional compliance calendar in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Languages: English and Arabic are a must.

Inside Snoonu’s Universe

Snoonu is Qatar’s homegrown Super App, reinventing daily life with blazing-fast delivery, shopping, and more – all in one place.
