Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable, as the role involves translation tasks. Strong ability to write and draft various forms of communication materials. Creativity and proficiency in story telling techniques is a plus. Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, including social media management and content creation software. Skills in graphic design and creating visual content (e.g., infographics) are a plus. Prior experience in communications, media relations, or content creation is beneficial but not mandatory. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions. Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas. Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location. Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract. Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential all unpublished information obtained during the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information. Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships. Working Hours: interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly. Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern. Department: NUQ Journalism Program<br><br>Northwestern University in Qatar seeks an outstanding colleague for a full-time, open-rank faculty appointment in Journalistic Writing and Reporting, to be appointed in the Journalism and Strategic Communication Program. We welcome scholars with demonstrated experience in the production of professional journalism content across platforms and university-level journalism education, and with a robust record of journalistic production and/or research of their own. Preference is for candidates with a Ph. D. in a relevant field and with a research/publication record focusing on the Global South. Candidates are expected to have linguistic competence and field experience in their area of scholarship.<br><br>In addition to a demonstrated research record commensurate with rank, or a highly promising research trajectory for candidates with a recent PhD, applicants should show competence in working with global communities, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring, and dedication to institutional service and shared governance. Candidates are expected to contribute to both undergraduate and future graduate education and program development.
