<p>JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Provide quality technical support in welding and fabrication / Shop Management. Ensure consistent quality of work by implementing quality control standards. Manage of materials, spare parts. Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of workshop equipment for optimal performance and safety.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
People Management
Monitor the activities and work performed by direct reports to ensure that it is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, in line with the business plans, and company policies and procedures.
Ensure Direct Hires /Baseload / Call-off Contractors comply with all company policies, procedures, Standard Maintenance Procedures, and Daily Instructions.
Maintain good communications between Supervisor and Production/Technical personnel.
Provide professional Leadership/direction to Technicians to complete the tasks with safety and quality.
Assist in certification process of workers assigned through training department.
Routine Duties
Perform PM of all equipment’s & tools and bring any abnormalities to the attention of Supervisor immediately and take necessary corrective actions.
Carries out all assessment of job plan including JSA, review and acknowledge drawings, understands recommendations to repair parts that arrive in Valve shop.
Coordinate with ERG, production, safety, technical departments from reliability, QA /QC point of view related to Valve shop.?
Personally perform the cutting/welding tasks and demonstrate practical knowledge and expertise.
Ability to carry out soldering and brazing jobs.
Must have knowledge of codes and standards related to piping materials & fittings.
Carry out all assessment of job plan including JSA, review and knowledge of isometric drawings, P&IDs, understands recommendations to perform the job in workshop/ Field.
Ensure that all Welding / Fabrication activities are performed in compliance with the ERG recommendations/policies.
Ensure proper welding electrodes are used by all welders and ensure the electrodes are preserved properly.
Ensure the weld joints are properly prepared and proper procedure is followed by all fabricators/welders!
Ensure proper materials are used by all fabricators and welders.
Ensure all welders are qualified and the quality inspection requirements of all jobs are fulfilled.
Ensure the fabrication and welding jobs are performed with good workmanship.
Ensure availability of welding consumables and PPEs and coordinate with Supervisor/planner to avoid shortage.
Coordinate with workshop supervisor in providing specifications, SOW etc. & assist in technical evaluations related to workshop activities.
Must use SAP functionality to acknowledge and execute scheduled jobs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support emergency planned SD’s and TA related to valve shop in workshop activities.
Should be able to develop, review / revise procedures related to Valve Shop activities.
Take part in Internal/External & field audits as assigned and to complete audit action items before due dates.
Support in achieving the department metrics.
Perform equipment PM/Inspection in a timely manner.
Ability to make necessary adjustments with minimum of Supervision, trouble shoot equipment problems, recommend solutions, resolve root cause, record/report findings.
Shop Management - Provide necessary support to Workshop Supervisor for smooth functioning Fabrication Shop.
Issue Permit in and around Workshop area under workshop ownership.
Maintain good housekeeping and order in the workshop.

Operate CNC routers, plotters, laser cutters, laminators, and other finishing equipment. Prepare substrates, inks, and materials according to job requirements. Perform test prints and make adjustments for alignment, sizing, and colour accuracy. Carry out cutting, trimming, laminating, mounting, routing, and assembly works. Handle materials such as vinyl, acrylic, MDF, foam board, aluminum, PVC, fabric, and paper. Prepare and modify artwork using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Prepare and verify print-ready files including AI, PDF, PSD, and EPS formats. Operate RIP software and manage production queues. Perform basic colour calibration, profiling, and quality checks. Troubleshoot minor machine, mechanical, and software-related issues. Carry out routine machine cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance. Follow all HSE and production quality requirements. Coordinate with designers, production teams, and project managers to ensure accurate job execution. Maintain production records and monitor material and consumable usage. Support urgent projects, exhibitions, installations, and high-demand production periods.<br><br>Requirements<br><br>Technical Diploma or certification in Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, Manufacturing, or a related field. Proven experience as a Digital Print Operator, CNC Operator, Fabrication Technician, or similar role. Strong practical knowledge of digital printing and fabrication machinery. Delivery<br>· Lead full-time, site-based PMC delivery of mission-critical projects in Qatar on a permanent basis, from mobilisation through to handover.· Own overall project governance, ensuring delivery stays aligned with client objectives, approved scope, budget and schedule at every stage.· Define the project delivery plan, governance structure and RACI, and ensure the PMC team understands its roles and reporting lines.· Chair project progress and steering meetings, and issue regular, accurate status reporting to the client and PPA leadership.· Identify, escalate and resolve critical issues, risks and change requests before they impact delivery.· Ensure each project phase – design, procurement, construction and commissioning – is formally reviewed and signed off before progressing to the next.<br>Client & Stakeholder Management<br>· Act as the primary point of contact for the client on site, representing PPA at client governance and steering meetings.· Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client, main and sub-contractors, designers, and relevant Qatari authorities.· Manage client expectations proactively, ensuring transparent, timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.· Coordinate with utilities, authorities and permitting bodies to support approvals and statutory compliance.<br>Team Leadership & Resourcing<br>· Lead and manage the PMC discipline team (Technical & Commissioning, QA/QC, Planning, HSE, Project Controls) on site.· Plan resourcing needs, allocate team members to project priorities and monitor workload and performance.· Set clear objectives for direct reports, conduct performance reviews and support their development.· Mentor and coach team members, building institutional PMC capability within the Qatar office.<br>Design & Technical Coordination<br>· Oversee the review and approval of design deliverables submitted by the design consultant/contractor.· Ensure design intent is carried through consistently into procurement, construction and commissioning.· Resolve technical and interface issues between disciplines, contractors and the client's technical team.<br>Procurement & Contract Management<br>· Support tendering, contractor and vendor selection, and contract award processes.· Oversee day-to-day contract administration for main and sub-contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms.· Manage variations, claims and disputes, working with commercial/legal support as required.<br>Commercial & Cost Management<br>· Own the overall project budget, cost forecasting and monthly cost reporting.· Review and approve payment certificates and monitor actual cost against the approved budget.· Manage contingency, change control and cost risk across the project.<br>Schedule & Risk Management<br>· Oversee the master project programme and critical path, ensuring the Planning Engineer's outputs are accurate and actionable.· Monitor progress against key milestones and intervene early where delays are identified.· Own and maintain the project risk register, and lead regular risk review sessions with the team.<br>Quality, HSE & Compliance<br>· Ensure the project quality management plan and HSE management plan are implemented, audited and enforced on site.· Chair or attend site safety reviews and quality review meetings, holding contractors accountable for performance.· Ensure project delivery complies with contractual requirements and all relevant Qatari regulations and permits.<br>Commissioning & Handover<br>· Oversee execution of the commissioning strategy, working closely with the Technical & Commissioning Manager.· Ensure a smooth, well-documented transition to the client's operations team, including resolution of snagging and defects.· Ensure as-built documentation, O&M manuals and close-out records are complete and delivered on time.<br>Technical Knowledge Strong knowledge and hands-on experience required across<br>· Full project lifecycle management for mission-critical/data centre construction projects.· Contract administration (e.g. FIDIC or similar forms of contract).· Cost control, schedule management and risk management.· The Qatar construction market, regulatory and permitting environment.· Stakeholder and client management on site-based projects.<br>Qualifications & Education<br>· Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.· PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.<br>Experience<br>· 10+ years in project/construction management, including mission-critical or data centre projects.· Proven experience managing PMC or consultancy teams on site-based projects.· Experience working in Qatar or the wider GCC region preferred.<br>Knowledge & Skills<br>· Strong
