Have experience in subsea umbilical crossing design, loadout, installation, and J-tube pulling operations. Have experience in power cable crossing design, loadout, installation, shore approach, and shore pulling analysis. Experience in and understanding of subsea umbilical pre-commissioning / commissioning operations<br><br>Primary Duties And Responsibilities<br><br>Provide technical design and engineering services in subsea umbilical and power cable Engineering (Offshore) for all assigned engineering projects. Achieving the technical quality of work in accordance with Company procedures, whilst considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE. Conduct Umbilical and Power Cable Engineering (Offshore) activities of in-house site surveys for projects, from initial concept definition phase through to; engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning. Ensure the required Company technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed, in workscopes and whilst conducting Pipeline Engineering (Offshore) activities. Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices. Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply Company standards and amendments to external standards. Plan and co-ordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet the project requirements. Co-ordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work- scopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure that the work-scope is comprehensive and clear. Develop offshore subsea facilities engineering scope of works and deliverables list for FEED and detail engineering stage. Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues. Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery. Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance. To review and comment on Package Vendor documents. Review and evaluate the Contract Changes/Variation to approved guidelines and practices. Act as the focal point for technical matters and take a lead role on behalf of Company on matters associated with subsea facilities. Work seamlessly with Company’s project team, to support the execution of subsea facilities, tie ins and systems integrations. Ensure the testing program, plans and procedures for all Subsea facilities deliver technical integrity assurance of all system interfaces prior to shipment for installation. Ensure interfaces between project Contractors and other stake holders are effectively managed. These include Operations & Maintenance department, Topsides and Drilling Contractors. Support competency development and performance evaluations.<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory) Master's Degree (Preferred) Chartered Engineer (CEng), PE, or equivalent professional registration is an advantage.<br><br>Experience<br><br>Minimum 12–15 years of mechanical design experience. At least 5 years in a Lead Mechanical Engineer role. Extensive experience in infrastructure engineering consultancy. Strong experience delivering projects in Qatar or GCC. Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure developments. <p>Technical decisions and engineering judgments have considerable safety, cost and/or schedule impact. Requires ability to influence people and work in multi discipline/cultural environment. Resolve technical problems within the discipline area. Visit work sites to verify / establish design conditions and assist during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and troubleshooting of facilities. Manage conflicting priorities, varying technical requirements, plant / equipment shutdowns and Project schedule deadlines. Support development and training of related discipline skill-pool and standards. Support dealing with various stake holders Responsible for providing required quality Mechanical Static / Piping engineering support and expertise through all stages of the project Verify and review technical Mechanical Static / Piping documents, and design documents in accordance with approved standards and to meet Operations, Maintenance, Asset integrity and HSE requirements. Ensure scope preparation completeness review with hands on experience in operation and maintenance of rotating and non-rotating equipment, various pumps and compressors, reliability and availability of equipment, APMS (Asset Performance Management System), mechanical and piping modifications, utilities etc. Plan and coordinate between Operations, Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Process and Operational Safety, Fire Engineering and ICT teams to ensure project requirements are met and aligned and provide continuous project assurance. Identifies potential hazards during Engineering activities (as applicable) such as Document Review, Design Safety Review workshop, HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, QRA, FERA, etc., participates in technical meetings, commissioning activities, SAT, Plant pre-start up safety audits, performance tests raises punch lists and provide support to operations and maintenance teams in various stages of project activities. Coordinate with Project execution department, engineering, operations and maintenance teams during projects' FEED and EPIC stages to align operations, maintenance, Asset Integrity and HSE requirements. Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders to resolve technical issues, punch lists and warranty issues during pre-commissioning and commissioning stages until the projects are successfully commissioned and handed over. Support lead engineer or his supervisor and ensure that all applicable environmental, process and safety technical policies, standards are fully integrated and implemented. Provide necessary support during any incident analysis, failure investigations etc. Ensure SIMOPS, Various project interfaces so that shutdown activities are properly planned for effective execution. Support development of Qatari teams.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering specialized in Static and Piping. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is preferable. Minimum 15 years relevant post graduate experience, of which 10 years in Oil & Gas industry with an international reputable Operating company. Experience in operations and maintenance is mandatory. Skill / knowledge of International, Shell DEPs and/or QP standards related to his area of expertise and Design Software related to Mechanical Static / Piping Engineering such as Stress Analysis software, etc. Exposure with international consulting company, EPIC contractor with projects' pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and Hand-over activities is an added advantage. Possess sound fundamentals in his discipline area. Shall possess very good technical skills in his discipline. Possess good communication, presentation skills and fluent in English language.</p>
