Job Summary<br><br>The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across the fertilizer complex to ensure that plant assets, materials, equipment, and construction activities comply with applicable international standards, company specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout their lifecycle. The role provides technical assurance for procurement, fabrication, welding, construction, inspection, testing, and material quality, while promoting a proactive "Quality at Source" culture to enhance asset reliability, mechanical integrity, and process safety.<br><br>The position also maintains compliance with ISO/IEC 17020 requirements by implementing and continually improving the Inspection Body Management System, supporting accreditation, and ensuring effective quality management practices across the Asset Integrity function.<br><br>Key Accountabilities<br><br>Lead and manage Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities across all QAFCO plants and facilities to ensure compliance with company specifications, international standards, and statutory requirements. Primary Purpose Of The Job<br><br>Function as a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer for a Power and Desalination Plant project, providing technical assurance over the Contractor’s civil and structural design from commencement through completion. The role requires independent technical capability to manage, review, verify and approve all civil and structural engineering deliverables associated with a power generation and desalination facility, including complex onshore and marine infrastructure.<br><br>The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer shall ensure suitability of civil and structural designs for site development, dynamic equipment foundations, very large prestressed potable water retaining structures, large‑scale drainage and earthworks, switching stations and electrical yards. Role Description The Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Al Khor and Al Thakhira, Qatar, with some flexibility for work from home. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining QA/QC procedures and standards across construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations. Day-to-day tasks include planning and performing inspections and tests, reviewing drawings and method statements, monitoring materials and workmanship, and documenting non-conformities with clear corrective actions. The engineer will coordinate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve quality issues, support audits, and prepare detailed quality reports. The role also involves continuous improvement of quality systems, training site personnel on QA/QC requirements, and supporting handover documentation. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Quality Assurance skills, including developing and implementing quality plans, procedures, and documentation in construction or engineering projects. Candidates should possess practical Quality Control skills, including executing inspections, supervising tests, and verifying materials and workmanship against project standards. Candidates should possess Quality Auditing skills, including planning and conducting internal and external audits, reporting findings, and following up on corrective and preventive actions. Candidates should possess Quality Management skills, including familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), performance metrics, and continuous improvement methodologies. Candidates should possess Inspection skills, including interpreting technical drawings and specifications, using inspection tools, and preparing clear inspection reports. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent technical qualification. Experience in construction or industrial projects, preferably with large EPC or infrastructure works in the Middle East. Strong knowledge of relevant standards and codes, and ability to work with multicultural teams and multiple stakeholders. Proficiency in MS Office and basic quality management or reporting software; strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
