<p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p><p>COMMISSIONING ENGINEER</p><p><strong>Systems Coverage</strong></p><p><strong>Plan, test, and commission the following ELV systems:</strong></p><p>· Security Systems: CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Perimeter Security</p><p>· Fire Alarm & Life Safety Systems: Fire Detection, Emergency Voice Evacuation, PA/VA systems</p><p>· Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS): HVAC controls, lighting control, energy monitoring</p><p>· Structured Cabling Systems: Fiber optic, copper (Cat6/6A), backbone and horizontal cabling</p><p>· Audiovisual Systems: Conference room AV, digital signage, background music</p><p>· ICT & Network Systems: Active network equipment, Wi-Fi, LAN/WAN infrastructure</p><p>· Other ELV Systems: Intercom, master clock, nurse call, parking management, building automation</p><p><strong>Pre-Commissioning & Testing</strong></p><p>· Review ELV design drawings, schematics, and specifications</p><p>· Conduct cable continuity, attenuation, and performance tests (OTDR, Fluke testing)</p><p>· Perform point-to-point verification of all field devices</p><p>· Test system functionality in standalone mode before integration</p><p>· Verify grounding, bonding, and earthing for ELV systems</p><p>· Execute insulation resistance and megger tests</p><p><strong>Commissioning & Integration</strong></p><p>· Configure and program system controllers, servers, and workstations</p><p>· Integrate ELV systems with each other and with MEP systems via protocols (BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP)</p><p>· Set up and optimize software platforms for monitoring and control</p><p>· Conduct end-to-end system performance tests</p><p>· Verify alarm management, reporting, and failover mechanisms</p><p>· Perform load testing and stress testing of network systems</p><p><strong>Documentation & Handover</strong></p><p>· Prepare commissioning test reports, checklists, and certificates</p><p>· Update as-built drawings and system configuration documents</p><p>· Compile operation and maintenance manuals</p><p>· Conduct client training sessions and system demonstrations</p><p>· Ensure snag list clearance and defect-free handover</p><p><strong>Technical Skills & Tools</strong></p><p><strong>Required Technical Competencies</strong></p><p>· Proficiency with testing equipment: OTDR, cable certifier (Fluke DSX/DXT), multimeter, network analyzer</p><p>· Experience with commissioning software specific to ELV systems</p><p>· Knowledge of IP networking, subnetting, VLAN configuration</p><p>· Understanding of integration protocols: BACnet, Modbus, KNX, LonWorks, OPC</p><p>· Ability to interpret ELV shop drawings, riser diagrams, and SLDs</p><p><strong>Standards & Compliance</strong></p><p>· Familiarity with relevant standards: BICSI, TIA/EIA, ISO, NEC, local civil defense regulations</p><p>· Knowledge of fire and safety codes related to ELV systems</p><p>· Understanding of cybersecurity basics for networked building systems</p><p><strong>Qualifications & Experience</strong></p><p><strong> Education</strong></p><p>· Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field</p><p>· Diploma with substantial experience may be considered</p><p><strong>Certifications (Preferred)</strong></p><p>· BICSI RCDD, DCDC, or Technician</p><p>· Cisco CCNA/Networking certifications</p><p>· Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, Axis, Hikvision)</p><p>· PMP or Commissioning-specific certifications (CxA, CBCP)</p><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><p>· Minimum 5-7 years in ELV systems testing and commissioning</p><p>· Hands-on experience with at least 4-5 major ELV systems</p><p>· Background in construction or MEP projects (high-rise, hospitals, airports, data centers, smart buildings)</p><p>· Experience in managing commissioning for projects >10,000 sq. meters</p><p> </p>
<p>Job Description:
To supervise and coordinate maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and overhaul activities for lifting equipment, including mobile cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and manlifts, while overseeing diesel engine overhaul operations to ensure equipment reliability, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repair Supervision:
Supervise daily maintenance and repair activities for:
Mobile cranes
Forklifts
Telehandlers
Scissor lifts
Boom lifts / manlifts
Allocate manpower, tools, and workshop resources effectively.
Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance schedules are executed on time.
Diagnose complex hydraulic, mechanical, transmission, and electrical faults.
Monitor equipment downtime and implement corrective actions to improve availability.
Engine Overhaul Supervision:
Oversee complete overhaul and rebuilding of diesel engines used in heavy equipment.
Supervise dismantling, inspection, measurement, machining coordination, reassembly, and testing activities.
Verify engine tolerances, clearances, and component conditions according to OEM standards.
Ensure proper use of precision measuring instruments.
Inspection & Troubleshooting:
Conduct technical inspections and root cause analysis for recurring failures.
Review condition reports and maintenance records.
Ensure proper troubleshooting procedures are followed by technicians.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company HSE procedures and lifting equipment safety standards.
Conduct toolbox talks and enforce safe workshop practices.
Ensure equipment inspections and certifications are maintained as required.
Team Leadership:
Supervise mechanics, hydraulic technicians, welders, and electricians.
Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training.
Evaluate technician performance and recommend training needs.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare maintenance reports, breakdown reports, and job completion records.
Maintain spare parts usage records and coordinate material requirements with stores/procurement.
Assist in preparing maintenance KPIs and monthly reports.
Coordination:
Coordinate with operations, planning, procurement, and third-party inspectors/vendors.
Liaise with OEM representatives when required.
Qualifications
Education:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, or related technical field.
Technical certification in heavy equipment maintenance is an advantage.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Experience:
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in maintenance and repair of heavy lifting equipment.
Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
Hands-on experience with:
Mobile cranes
Forklifts
Telehandlers
Aerial work platforms (scissor lifts/manlifts)
Diesel engine overhaul
Experience in construction, oil & gas, industrial services, or equipment rental companies preferred.
