Business Development Manager Lime Tech Middle East | Doha, Qatar Industrial, energy and engineering project support
We are establishing Lime Tech Middle East, and we’re looking for a Doha-based Business Development Manager to help build the business from the ground up. Working directly with Lime Tech’s directors, our Qatari partners and our UK delivery team, you will lead business development in Qatar and help shape our wider regional growth. We need someone who understands the contractor market, knows how industrial services are bought, and can turn a useful conversation into a properly scoped commercial opportunity. This is a hands-on business-building role—not a position managing an established portfolio of accounts.
What we do Lime Tech provides the people, equipment, training and specialist support that help contractors deliver industrial and energy projects. A customer might need additional mechanical or electrical personnel, a confined-space rescue team, someone to manage its safety equipment, or a complete technical work package. We can provide an individual service or bring several together under one delivery lead. Our services include:
Skilled people and supervision: Mechanical and electrical personnel, HSE professionals, supervisors, painting and coatings personnel, rope-access technicians and general operatives.
Site safety and rescue: Confined-space rescue, entry attendants, fire watchers and remote-monitored confined-space management.
Equipment and training: Gas detection, breathing apparatus and associated safety equipment, including supply, management, maintenance and user training.
Specialist teams and managed packages: Rope access, coatings repairs, high-pressure jetting, managed HV installation and testing, and outsourced site HSE teams. You will have the support of our UK technical and operational team. You do not need to be the technical expert in every service, but you must be able to recognise a genuine requirement, ask the right questions and involve the right people.
Your role Our initial customers will be main contractors and subcontractors already delivering work in Qatar. Your job is to understand what they need and establish where Lime Tech can make a practical contribution. You will:
Develop contractor relationships across construction, maintenance, shutdowns, industrial services, power, oil and gas, fabrication and marine work.
Find specific opportunities: An upcoming shutdown needing rescue cover, a contractor short of specialist personnel, an equipment-management requirement or a defined electrical work package.
Manage the sales process from first contact through site meetings, enquiries, proposals, negotiation and contract award, within agreed commercial authority.
Work with our Qatari partners to turn introductions into productive meetings, clear requirements and dated next steps.
Coordinate with our UK team on scope, pricing, personnel, equipment and delivery readiness—making commitments we can fulfil.
Build repeat business through clear handovers, regular customer contact and disciplined follow-up, while maintaining an accurate opportunity pipeline and sales forecast. You will also help coordinate contractor supplier registration and prequalification where required, ensuring these activities support real opportunities rather than becoming an administrative exercise.
Who we’re looking for We are looking for someone already based in Doha who brings:
A proven record of winning business in Qatar within industrial services, engineering, technical workforce supply, maintenance, safety equipment or a closely related field.
Established, relevant contractor relationships and the ability to build new ones with project managers, contract managers, maintenance teams and subcontract buyers.
Commercial judgement: An understanding of margins, payment terms, buying processes and the difference between an interesting conversation and a genuine opportunity.
A practical, self-directed approach: Comfortable arranging meetings, visiting sites, preparing proposals and following through without a large local support team.
Strong business English and clear communication, with the confidence to work closely with customers, local partners and our UK technical team. Experience working with UK engineering or industrial-services businesses would be useful, as would experience helping establish or grow a regional operation. Arabic language skills would be an advantage. We are interested in what you have helped win and how you achieved it—not simply the size of your contact list.
Why join Lime Tech? This is an opportunity to take a central role in establishing a new regional business, supported by Qatari partners and Lime Tech UK’s existing delivery capability. You will work directly with the people making the decisions, help shape our customer base and commercial approach, and see the effect of your work on the business as it develops. The immediate focus is Qatar. The longer-term opportunity is to help develop Lime Tech’s presence across the Middle East. Success will mean qualified enquiries, commercially sound contracts, successful delivery and repeat customers—not just meetings and proposals.
Interested? Please send your CV and a short introduction to enquiries@limetechengineering.co.uk, using the subject:Business Development Manager – Doha Please include your current location, notice period, salary expectations and two brief examples of relevant business you have helped win. Tell us the type of customer, the service sold and your involvement; there is no need to disclose confidential client information. Applications will be assessed on relevant experience, capability and suitability for the role.
Lime Tech Engineering People. Competence. Safety. Performance. This person handles the Qatar market GTM and is technically fluent enough to run the solution conversation without waiting for an engineer on every call. This is a builder role for setting up a commercial and technical front for the country. Success means signing partners, setting up joint pipeline with them, and closing the first paying deployments in-market. WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE This person sells the capability, manages the OEM relationship and keeps the partner positioned as the AI delivery engine for the territory. The commercial motion is two-sided: recruit and enable the local partner who fronts the brand, and support that partner into their own end customers. Coordinate with our client's engineering for deep build and delivery, but be self-sufficient on standard solution and scoping conversations. Advise partners and end customers on deployment options, including on-premises and sovereign hosting to meet Qatar data-residency requirements. Translate between the end customer's business problem and delivery team so scope, timeline, and cost are set correctly before signature. Keep early Qatar deployments on track: apply structured program governance so first partner engagements land on schedule and protect the reference base for the next deals. Market & Partner Development Map the Qatar government and enterprise landscape for the priority domains the stack serves. A program-delivery or solutions background that has moved toward commercial is the pattern we want. Comfortable with channel, OEM, reseller, or white-label selling, or a clear ability to run a two-sided partner-plus-end-customer motion. PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR: A technical program or solutions leader who has moved toward the commercial edge and is ready to own a country. Someone who came up delivering real enterprise modernization, cloud, data, and AI programs, so they can walk into a partner or client meeting and be fully credible on the architecture and the delivery plan, then structure and close the deal in the same conversation. Comfortable being the only representative in Qatar for the first year, self-directed, and able to move a deal from first meeting to signature without a large support structure behind them. Direct, execution-focused, and at ease selling a capability that carries someone else's badge.
