Job Summary and Purpose Ensure that the Fleet is managed safely, efficiently, in a professional manner to standards and costs that are in line with the industry best practices. Oversee and monitor the overall operational management being provided by third parties.<br>Key Accountabilities: <br>Management Establish and continuously monitor operational standards of ships to ensure delivery of continuous, efficient and safe service to the customer Provide marine operational expertise and advice with regards to operational matters. Oversee/ensure complete compliance with port / terminals requirements, oil / gas majors and ship vetting systems Ensure that the trading certification of vessels are valid and avoid failure due to non-compliance Monitor performance of the vessels against charter parties to ensure commercial interests of owners are protected. Prepare defense for performance and off hire claims Monitor LNG bespoke developed emergency STS transfer with the third-party service provider in conjunction with the charterers to be able to deploy promptly if required Visit ships as required and instructed by the Operations Manager. Develop reports on the upkeep, operational standards, and effective management of vessels Monitors and ensure ship-shore loading efficiency, passage performance, ship performance, and cargo management are done efficiently Ensure terminal compatibility and assurance process completed safely and timely. Ensure compliance with port / terminals requirements, ship vetting systems (oil / gas majors) at all times<br>Vetting of Vessels Ensure that vessels in the fleet are vetted successfully by arranging timely SIRE inspections, giving prompt responses to any observations raised, initiate remedial actions and identify and mitigate gaps in policies and procedures Manage the entry of details from the VPQ into the SIRE system as well as maintain the relevant vessels particulars data not limited to TMSA and Q88 records<br>Audits and Ship Inspections Conduct ship inspections on a regular basis to ensure effective ship management during calls to Ras Laffan or sailing visit. In these visits, he/she shall carry out internal audits not limited to navigational, galley and cargo audits Conduct safety / security / environmental and other SHEQ internal audits as applicable Supervise the close-out of audits and inspections of ships in coordination with the SHEQ Division<br>Safety Management System Maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) of the organization and consistently focus on improving the quality, efficiency of procedures and accuracy Brief new senior officers before they join the vessels with regards to the Safety Management System, company policies, vessel operations and specific charterers’ requirements Supervise and carry out security duties as per ISPS code if requested by management<br>Monitor Communication:Confirm owned vessels managed by third party is operated efficiently in line with Master Service agreement, Owners instructions, charterer’s instruction and TCP<br>Voyage Planning Supervise the voyage planning and performance process for the vessels managed by NSQL to ensure compliance with the requirements of the charterer. Job Description<br><br>The Senior Surveyor I is considered an intermediate to advanced level Surveyor position. The primary function is to examine and report on vessels and other marine structures during and after construction relative to compliance with the applicable requirements for maintaining the vessel in Classification with ABS and meeting associated statutory and special service requirements related to the Safety of Life at Sea, Loadline, Tonnage, Cargo Gear, and Pollution Prevention Certification. When necessary, responsible for administering office procedures and monitoring business performance at an assigned port.<br><br>What You Will Do:<br><br>Acts as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of related rules, regulations, requirements, concepts, principles, and processes. Performs routine surveys on classed vessels, platforms, or other marine structures and at manufacturers for classification and compliance with statutory requirements. Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys performed. Engages in contact with clients to resolve problems within areas of expertise. Maintains survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in the area of responsibility. Maintains an active awareness of new methods and developments affecting the technical scope of assigned responsibilities and recommends changes in the surveying processes and safety programs as warranted by such developments. Recommends new approaches to problems encountered and makes changes in methods, procedures, or design where necessary. Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work and monitoring the quality of service on work performed. Monitors work and projects performed by subordinate surveyors to ensure maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed. Provides leadership, guidance, and training to lower-level and/or less experienced surveyors. Promotes the services and capabilities of ABS to present and potential customers. <br><br>What You Will Need:<br><br>Education & Experience<br><br>Qualifications from a tertiary institution within a relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum two (2) years program); or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant seagoing experience as a certificated ship officer, and Minimum requirements & knowledge listed for Surveyor II. Minimum three (3) years of experience working as a Surveyor II. Understanding of ABS strategic technical positioning in their respective sector of the marine industry or Minimum eight (8) years of experience in an Engineering or Survey Capacity with an IACS member Classification Society<br><br>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities<br><br>Appropriate certification and/or licenses in areas of specialization may be required. Ability to read engineering plans and have a basic understanding of shipbuilding practices and vessel operations. Ability to perform surveys in the prescribed format. Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions. <br><br>Physical Requirements:<br><br>Where allowed by local laws, a pre-employment physical examination is mandatory. The role of surveyor/auditor requires sufficient physical strength, stamina, agility, and both visual and auditory acuity to perform the listed duties effectively. The ability to climb vertical ladders up to nine meters and navigate steep steps is essential. Shall be capable of working at heights on various staging and lifting equipment. Shall be able to maneuver in tight spaces and work inside confined areas for extended periods, including kneeling and crawling. The role may involve exposure to industrial environments, potential injury risks, extreme weather conditions, and demanding physical activities. Shall be able to lift at least 25 lbs. / 11.34 kgs. The use of small tools and the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in accordance with ABS safety procedures, may be required. Where allowed by local laws, the surveyor will be required to successfully complete an annual physical that will recertify that the individual can perform the physical actions required. <br><br>Reporting Relationships:<br><br>Will report to a Principal Surveyor or higher, under the direction of a Survey Manager or District/Country Manager as appropriate.
