<p>Sorts guest items for appropriate action (Washing, dry cleaning, pressing or repair) and then processes the clothing on the correct equipment, using the appropriate temperature and chemicals. Once processed, folds or hangs the clothing as desired. Loads washing machines with the appropriate items for a load. Weighs all loads and uses the appropriate amount and type of cleaning chemicals for each load. Sorts employee uniforms for appropriate action (Washing, dry cleaning, pressing or repair) and then processes the clothing on the correct equipment using the appropriate temperature and chemicals. Once processed, hangs and transports clean uniforms to Housekeeping. Works on Stain removal of all linen as allocated by the Laundry Manager. Moves washed linens to dryers. Your Role: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise, train and inspect the performance of Laundry Attendants, Washers, Pressers and Uniform Attendants, ensuring that all procedures are completed to the hotel's standards. Assist in the laundry Department where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests. Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level daily by checking, training and following the LQA, Forbes and Rosewood Brand standards. Confirm that specific instructions such as folding trousers, light starch, or folding shirts are perfectly adhered to. Ensure that all items for dry cleaning are correctly marked, Check and test garments for color fastening Check for any damage on received laundry prior to dry cleaning process Refill chemicals, clean filters and service the machines as needed Operate dry cleaning machine and ensure a high standard of dry cleaning Load and unload of dry-cleaning machines with correct load amount Ensure the proper operation of all machinery and report any defects Be full conversant with fire and safety procedures and adhere to them Operate Laundry Services and all machines according to specifications. While processing cleaned articles through the machines, check the cleanliness and condition of each; separate damaged/stained articles. Ensure proper organization in all areas, i.e. fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size. Ensure document and process guest requests for laundry, dry cleaning and pressing of garments, hotel uniforms and designated management garments in accordance with departmental specifications. Check and ensure clear lint and debris from drains, dryer filters and change filters as specified in departmental procedures.
