Primary Purpose Of The Job<br><br>As part of the team in charge of the IT solutions/applications specific to company business:<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Lead and manage medium to large IT projects to implement new or transform existing COMPANY solutions with a delineated scope of work to be executed within a finite time frame. Ensure that project related implementation/transformation are performed in accordance with business needs and compliance with ICT exigencies (governance and security). Handle assigned projects as per their charter-defined responsibilities over all components and phases, including required procurement activities. Entertain close relations with COMPANY stakeholders to understand their key needs and priorities. Identify and evaluate the possible solutions (new applications, enhancements, capacity, etc.) and then facilitate and document related solution selection and decision. Apply security measures by following security procedures and standards to ensure a secure environment; manage and address vulnerabilities and threats on project related systems. Follow the established procedures/processes and utilise best practices to provide effective control and mitigation of risk to the concerned project or solution.<br><br>Education<br><br>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences/Petroleum & Energy, MBA or equivalent. International certifications in project management (PMP or equivalent) are preferred, and IT service management (ITIL or equivalent) is recommended.<br><br>Experience & Skills<br><br>Project Management Experience<br><br>Minimum 9 years of progressive and directly related experience with IT project management and with trading solutions. Experience in managing/executing various high value projects for trading solutions implementation (including resource leadership and contracts management).<br><br>Oil & Gas and Trading Domain Knowledge<br><br>Demonstrated understanding of the Oil & Gas sector and deep knowledge of the trading business and related technologies and solutions (C/E-TRM, fleet management, trading platforms, trading market analytics, etc.).<br><br>Software Development & Delivery<br><br>Excellent understanding and practical experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), both waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.<br><br>Contracts & Commercial Management<br><br>Strong experience in establishing and managing related contracts and agreements.<br><br>IT Standards & Architecture<br><br>Familiar with IT standards & best practices, architecture, integration, and methods.<br><br>Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills<br><br>Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Company Description Desert Sand Oil & Gas Co. LLC (DSOG) is a 100% Omani service provider supporting oil and gas operators with a broad range of drilling, workover, and well services. The organization offers supply of drilling and workover rigs, rig and hoist ancillary equipment, well control equipment, and specialized tools such as drill strings, handling tools, fishing/milling tools, gas monitors, mud pumps, and choke & kill manifolds. DSOG also provides supply and services for wellheads, completion tools, artificial lift systems, and mud logging services. The company operates an ISO 9001:2008 certified management system, and its Misfah facility is an API Q1 certified machine shop. An upcoming state-of-the-art facility in Adam is being developed to further support efficient field operations and growth opportunities. Role Description The Wellhead Maintenance Engineer / operator is a part-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar, responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of wellhead equipment. This role involves planning and executing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of wellheads and associated components in coordination with field operations teams. The engineer will diagnose mechanical and pressure-control issues, recommend corrective actions, and supervise repairs or replacements to maintain integrity and compliance with industry standards. Daily tasks include reviewing maintenance records, preparing technical reports, updating asset documentation, and supporting adherence to HSSE guidelines. The role also requires close collaboration with supervisors, technicians, and client representatives to schedule interventions, optimize equipment performance, and contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance practices. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in wellhead maintenance, including inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of wellhead assemblies and related pressure-control equipment. Strong knowledge of oil and gas field operations, drilling and workover processes, and well integrity principles. Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and equipment specifications. Solid understanding of HSSE standards and ability to apply safe work practices in field environments. Ability to use maintenance tools, test equipment, and basic diagnostic instruments relevant to wellhead systems. Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with technicians, supervisors, and client representatives. Organizational and time-management skills to plan maintenance activities, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience in wellhead maintenance may be considered. Previous experience in oil and gas service companies or field operations roles is highly beneficial. <p>Accountable to ensure that department assigned field projects lifting engineering, coordination, plans, offshore mobilization etc. are conducted in accordance with approved Scope of Work, drawings, engineering design and safety, environment and standards &amp; specifications. Oversee and provide guidance/advice to contractor on all offshore heavy lifts and subsea installation activities to ensure that they are performed as per approved method statements complying with project schedule, quality, and material requirements. Manage and guide the contractor during engineering, review, comment and approve contractor's construction engineering documents in PDMS. Attend engineering workshops such as Constructability review, SIMOPS, Schedule Risk Analysis, 3D Model Reviews, HAZOP, Lifting Plan reviews and provide inputs to ensure that contractor conducts these workshops complying to requirements. Project focal point to manage all lifting activities including coordination with internal stake holders such as PTS, Operations and Project team and external stake holders such as Contractors, third party agencies etc. Participate in all engineering workshops during FEED and EPIC. Ensure Contractor execute offshore heavy lifts, installation in accordance with standards, specifications, and approved drawings. Monitor, control and report Contractor's performance, man-power deployment, plant and equipment's movements, construction slippages etc. Act as the construction Risk Management representative to identify Construction Risk events, the effects &amp; consequences, propose mitigation measures and take ownership to ensure mitigation measures have been implemented at site. Liaise with senior discipline engineers throughout all phases of the project for offshore lifting related matters including inputs during the detailed engineering and procurement stages. Review contractors' lifting plans, certificates, schedules, method statements, procedures etc. to ensure compliance with project as well as requirements. Maintain a daily record of progress noting special comments. Reports to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions. Monitor and control of work permits to ensure that contractor compliance with conditions fixed on consolidated work permits. Interact and interface with other contractors, projects, departments regularly to identify and resolve all offshore lifting related matters especially liaison with operations, PTS and approved agencies. Support in development of new standards, specifications, guidelines etc. and support enhancement of existing corporate documents.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Sc. (or) Higher National Diploma (or) Diploma in Mechanical (or) Petroleum Engineering in an Engineering discipline from a recognized University discipline or equivalent plus relevant courses in Safety, Quality Control and Construction. Candidate should have a minimum of 10 to 12 years overall experience in coordination and supervision of offshore heavy lifts, non-routine lifts and offshore installation of EPIC projects such as Oil and Gas Production / wellhead platforms, Jackets and subsea installations. Review and approve contractor lifting plants, certificates, method statements and load-out activities. Computer literate. Good communication and writing skills. Candidate must have robust experience in FEED and EPIC projects with strong capability to review/approve contractor deliverables. Excellent command of English Language (oral and written) Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and environmental awareness. Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules and drawings.
