The Quantity Surveyor / Estimator will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of projects involving glass and aluminum systems. This includes preparing accurate estimates for projects, managing budgets, and ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining project quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying and estimation specific to glass and aluminum , as well as excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for façade glass and aluminum projects, including material, labor, and installation costs.
- Tender Preparation: Assist in the preparation of tenders, bids, and quotations, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all documentation.
- Cost Management: Monitor project costs throughout all phases of the project to ensure alignment with the approved budget.
- Quantity Take-Offs: Perform quantity take-offs for materials such as glass, aluminum frames, brackets, sealants, and other -related components.
- Vendor Management: Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiate prices, and evaluate cost comparisons to support project goals.
- Risk Analysis: Identify potential risks in the project’s cost estimates and provide recommendations for cost control and risk mitigation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and suppliers to ensure clear communication of project requirements and budgets.
- Document Control: Maintain up-to-date records of all project estimates, variations, and cost reports.
- Project Reporting: Prepare and present cost and financial reports to management and other stakeholders.
Skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in quantity surveying or estimating, preferably within the façade, glass, and aluminum industry.
- Strong knowledge of glass & aluminum systems, materials, and construction techniques.
- Proficiency in relevant software (AutoCAD, MS Excel, cost estimation tools).
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a strong understanding of project cost management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in large-scale commercial and residential projects.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices related to glass and aluminum materials.
