Primary Purpose of the Job
To provide specialist Process Safety leadership, governance, and technical expertise to Mesaieed Operations by supporting the implementation and continual improvement of Process Safety Management Systems (PSMS) and Major Accident Hazard Management (MAHM) programs. The role ensures process safety risks are systematically identified, assessed, and managed to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) levels through effective risk management, operational support, assurance activities, competency development, incident learning, and lifecycle risk management, thereby protecting people, environment, assets, and business continuity.
Required Experience and SkillsMinimum 10 years of relevant experience within the oil and gas, petrochemical, LNG, refining, or related process industries. Minimum 5 years of dedicated experience in Process Safety Management, Risk Management, Loss Prevention, Major Accident Hazard Management (MAHM), or a closely related discipline.
Experience supporting Management of Change (MOC), projects, facility modifications, commissioning, start-ups, Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs), shutdowns, and turnarounds.
Educational QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Safety Engineering, or other relevant Engineering discipline from a recognized university.
• NEBOSH Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent recognized HSE qualification.
• HAZOP Leader certification from an internationally recognized institution is preferred.
• Professional certification in Process Safety, Risk Management, Functional Safety, or related discipline would be advantageous.
