• Act as the primary point of contact between vessel masters, port authorities, agents, and project teams
• Supervise vessel arrivals, departures, cargo operations, and bunkering to ensure timely port turnarounds
• Monitor compliance with IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISPS, and port state regulations
• Coordinate with pilots, tug operators, and terminal staff for safe berthing and unberthing operations
• Oversee crew changes, provisions, spares, and logistics for project vessels
• Conduct vessel inspections to ensure seaworthiness, safety, and environmental compliance
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, or delays and implement corrective actions
• Prepare port call reports, cost analyses, and operational performance reviews for management
• Liaise with classification societies and flag state authorities for surveys and certifications
• Ensure vessel certificates are valid and maintained; track expirations and coordinate renewals
• Manage vessel budget including port disbursements, agency fees, and operational costs
• Coordinate with technical teams for vessel maintenance and repair planning
• Ensure compliance with charter party requirements and client specifications
• Provide guidance and support to vessel masters on operational and regulatory matters
• Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for port and vessel operations.
• Valid Master Mariner (Class 1 COC) or Chief Engineer license preferred
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience as Port Captain, Marine Superintendent, or Senior Deck Officer
• Experience with vessel types including tugs, barges, crew boats, offshore support vessels, and workboats
• Strong knowledge of port operations, charter party agreements, and voyage planning
• Familiarity with ECDIS, PMS, vessel tracking systems (AIS, VDR), and navigation software
• Understanding of international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, MLC, ISM, ISPS)
• Proficiency in English; additional languages (Arabic, Hindi) are a plus
• Ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment
• Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET/HUET) if required for project sites.
