We are seeking an experienced Piping Draftsman / CAD Designer to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role involves developing detailed piping drawings based on approved P&IDs and vendor information, coordinating with civil and structural disciplines, and supporting construction activities.
Key Responsibilities- Update and maintain P&ID drawings and convert approved P&IDs and vendor data into detailed piping GA layouts, plans, and sections
- Prepare detailed drawings for pumping stations, valve chambers, chemical dosing rooms, and process buildings
- Incorporate pipe supports, sleeves, wall penetrations, flanges, clearances, access provisions, and maintenance zones into drawings
- Develop piping, valve, and fitting schedules, including MTO/BOM, based on issued drawings
- Identify, coordinate, and resolve clashes with civil and structural elements; issue redlines and drawing revisions as required
- Provide construction-phase support, including shop drawing reviews and updates
Requirements- A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in piping drafting and design
- Demonstrated experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including sewage treatment plants (STPs) and pumping stations
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D, including effective use of layers, external references (Xrefs), blocks, and drafting standards
- Proven ability to independently interpret P&IDs, technical specifications, and vendor drawings
- Strong competency in the preparation of piping, valve, and fitting schedules, as well as material take-offs (MTO) and bills of materials (BOM)
- Mandatory working knowledge of MS Excel for preparation and management of schedules and quantity data
- Familiarity with Civil 3D and/or Navisworks will be considered a strong advantage
